Never seen such issue before, were updates disappear or uninstalled secrectly yes, i would suggest that your OS is not in good shape
I can only think of that old family safety stuff, it uses a temp user profile and when it's shut down and restarted all changes are gone and all is back to the original state.
@Manchita yes, looks fine if .NET 4.8 is causing erors, maybe you can uninstall it, and install .NET 4.5.2
Hello, the last time I applied the Windows Updates in Dezember everything went fine. But now I´m getting this message: Error in the configuration of Windows Updates Whats worse I cant get rid of it. Everything that I tried failed. Hope you guys can hellp me with that. Would hate to loose my Windows7 Pro because of that problem. Thanks. P.S. installed all updates until Janunary without a single problem.
I tried to install the newest update rollup from February and the PC worked up to 30 % , restarted and tried to configure the update. He reached 97 % and then suddenly there was this message and now i cant get rid of it. It keeps reappearing no matter what I try. Resetting Windows Update didn´t work either . . . even restoring a saved system point doesnt work. I am just not able to install the neweset update. Until now everything worked fine with bypass esu.
Sorry, What does it mean to delete .NET 4.x ESU installer It means remove the BypassEsu-v11 or it means uninstall Net Framework. Excuse me, but my language is different, I use a translator, and it is difficult for me. My bug is in the February update .NET Framework 3.5.1, 4.5.2, 4.6, 4.6.1, 4.6.2, 4.7, 4.7.1, 4.7.2, 4.8 Windows 7 x64 (KB4603002) (error in the update, reverting....) Thanks for your job.
Probably means, uninstall the .net 4 bypass. Did you reset WU by deleting the softwaredistribution folder? Or did you try to use the standalone .net 4 dotnetfx installer?
I did not delete the softwaredistribution folder No, I ran windows update from control panel to install the upgrade. Do I have that program? I only have "BypassESU-v11.7z" installed
Thanks for your reply haz367. I spent a lot of hours trying to find an answer for the .NET Framework mystery. One of the things I did download was the MS .NET repair tool. But on launch it immediately asks you to allow MS to collect info about your hardware, logs etc....and I don't like the idea of letting them do that for obvious reasons. By the way, the link you posted for the repair tool returns a not found error.
I know that Enthousiast, but I didn't want to then get a pop up saying "Your Windows is not genuine"...out of the frying pan and into the fire!!
