On one of my Win7 PCs, the .NET Update (KB5004229) is only being offered as an Optional, 'Recommended' update. It was not offered before the Patch Tuesday update or the SSU update (which installed itself yesterday). (The other one installed it before the SSU update, normally/without issues.) Has anybody else witnessed this behavior?

On your main Windows Update page you should go to the "Change Settings" option. There you should find a CheckBox labeled "Give me recommended updates the same way I receive Important updates"... this option should be CHECKED. Is it...??

@abbodi1406 I'm sure that you may be aware that the ESU program for POSReady 7 starts this October. And I am wondering if the current ESU Bypass can work on POSReady 7? (as I have a few machines on it). ... I am also wondering if the POSReady 7 ESUs could be used on regular Windows 7, if so this would effectively give regular Windows 7 two extra years of ESUs (nearly 5 yrs in total), since the POSReady 7 ESU program won't end until October 2024.

...god damn it. Thank you. Though, I'm not sure why I ever would have shut that off...

^^Microsoft where delivering Windows 10 as a "recommended update" so that was a very good reason to turn it off a few years ago.
I never dared turn it back on again, MS are just bastards, probably they will sneak Edge or something else in that way too, if they haven't already!

Mostly like Embedded Standard 7, all will work except WU ESU Patcher

till January 2023, ESU updates are the same for all
then they will probably restrict them for Embedded via update.mum

Do you think you can "unrestrict" them to give an extra one & three quarter yrs of ESUs to regular Win 7? ... Also, I'm still not clear if The ESU Bypass will work on POSReady 7.

So I'll know if the ESU Bypass is working if KB5004229 and KB5004289 successfully install, right? Just wanna make sure I set it up correctly.

Thanks for the hard work on this btw :)

lol yes, Edge was pushed as an update last year :p

Thankfully, it can be uninstalled (as a program) through the normal way very easily.

He's not being prejudiced, he just uses another web browser and has no use for EDGE... many users are like that.

Actually, I'm boycotting anything from Google, so, Edge is automatically excluded.

Edge is a bad Vivaldi clone, except that Vivaldi lacks all Google spyware (they spent years doing that) . Edge likely still has it with the addition MS' own crap.

Having a good idea of what's inside the sources of chromium/and derivatives is PRECISELY my way to be independent.

What's yours? Being on the unofficial MS cheerleader team doesn't help for sure.
