Sorry, my mistake when typing. It's Windows 7 Pro 32 bit, so the update is correct

    Thanks for your reply,

First of all, thank you for the work! :)

I tested every single file via virustotal and got two virus warnings:

    msislc.dll
    virustotal.com/gui/file/f46c8e4ad024c3d57d94eefb4ee326c60f45be19881a9f173aa5025a32929fed

    wimlib-imagex.exe
    virustotal.com/gui/file/a148e8fb0ef31a2618bb517358965553162393592301a83bc588ee5ab71fb28d

    ^Comments:
    "FfuProvider.dll.mui linked to darkkomet"
    "bootres"

    What does that mean?

false positive. nothing bad actually happens
wimlib-imagex is the (open-source) servicing tool for the .wim integration here

No, I have absolutely no idea. That is the reason why I posted here. People here know better than me. :)

What about these Security Vendors?

    Hello,

    I had the same problem.
Disk tested - no errors. Then manually downloaded the update from the Microsoft Update Catalog and installed it without any problems.
    You can try it.

this solution worked for me too, thanks for your workaround.
It remains a quite strange problem

Hmm, so after installing this and rebooting after installing the first updates, my PC ends up in a bootloop, even on safe mode. Any ideas?

try installing them one by one and reboot after each one, not all at once
if they still won't install, skip them

Well with tomorrow being November 1st, and with only 2 months left to the year, do you think it is now less likely that MS extends Win7 ESUs past year 3? My opinion is, if they were going to do it, they would have announced it in early Oct. to give 3 months notice of continuing 7 ESUs. Or does MS want to wait till the last minute to get more companies to move to 10 or 11?
