I know that sucks! With so many Windows 7 users surely they will have to support them a bit longer.

I'm not sure, I saw an article that suggested 3 more years.

Hello, good morning. First of all, I want to thank you for the work you do. Well, I'm going to explain my problem with my computer, see if you can help me, it turns out that I had to reformat my PC again, I installed Windows 7 and it turns out that when I install the KB4537820 update it tells me that this update is not compatible with this computer and it turns out that several KB updates tell me the same thing, I have all the servipack installed thanks to see if you can tell me what I can do I'm desperate thanks.

Offtopic; is there a way yet to keep updating Chrome?

V109.xxx will be the last to support Win 7 and 8.1. I don't care 'cause I don't use that junky browser.

second, even people who are on windows 10+ or some other os also have to be aware that chrome will become garbage after manifest v3
if all you have is a chromebook, sorry pal but install some other linux os on it

Does that mean the articles are rubbish? Do you have any other sources saying what will actually happen next year in terms of support for win 7 ESU updates?

No but as usual one of those "tech sites" publishes something (without official sources and many times something found on mdl) and the others all copy it and publish their own version.

Versions v9 and v11 only differ in the type of .NET patcher. Use whichever works for you.
