So I have a question. Microsoft recently released public cummulative update for Windows 7. Do I understand correctly, that if I install latest legit Win7 ISO and update via WU. I technically will be up-to-date for as of December 2022 and I dont need ESE updates?

Or, MS being s**tty corpo they are, did not include any ESU security update into public one? I wouldnt be surprised about it.

The last public non-ESU updates are from January 2020. The updates released after that date are still public (you can download them), but you cannot install them (they will roll back on reboot) without having a valid ESU license (or the Bypass installed).

Installing a fresh ISO and letting WU do its thing will end up with an installation that's updated as of 01/2020. No further updates will be offered through WU without a license or the Bypass.

Oh I might have misread, I saw new like 2-3 days ago boasting "Microsoft release new patch updates, including outdated Windows 7" and I thought it was an actual public patch-fix, not an ESU since ESU's were released monthly all 2 years so there isnt really any point writing news about mundane thing.

This sucks then, I no longer have live Win7 available so I cant integrate updated in my old ESU image from May 2020 on WIn10. Are there are trusty public ISO maintainers for WIn7 pre-made ESU stuff?

Maybe the news you saw was referring to the "legacyupdate.net/" site, but I don't think that includes the ESU updates.

2~3~4 days ago was patch tuesday (Dec. 13. 2022), here you can find the updatepack that will enable you to install the missing updates:
    https://forums.mydigitallife.net/th...egrate-hotfixes-into-win7-distribution.45005/
Here you can find a SiMPLiX pack ISO creation tool to create an uptodate ISO:

I appreciate the effort but dont really want to use 3rd party tools, always had bad experience.
ESU bypass also should not be integrated in my opinion,

Are you using the internet explorer or edge browser (html based version)?!

Or do you use the firefox browser or chromium browsers or opera brave or something else?!

If yes you are using 3rd party tools or secondary party tools.

    Shame on you^^

"Do the dev plan to port/include POSReady 7 updates in the future for retail oem edition like ultimate etc ? Is this even possible ?"

This is the MOST important question at this point seeing that there is now no evidence of the alleged "3 more years" of potential updates from a previous suggestion as far back as July. A POSReady 7 hack would extend support until October of 2024. At Present I have the Bypass ESU , EMET , and the free version of 0Patch on my Win 7 system.

The Feelings are mixed:Happy for ALL the memories of my life that I shared with the legendary OS and Sad that the support is ending.Hoping even at last moment, that support will be extended.... Well however it goes i will dual boot it with something newer maybe linux. too much compatibility issues, running several devices that only supports 7 and over all 7 was great bloat free beautiful os, windows 11 just inventing the wheel again + the bloatware and spyware. not feeling the need for upgrade except for future security reasons.

How is the experience with 0Patch is it any reason to have it now ?

You don't use Simplix? How would you update a 7 just installed?:In a bind here. Thinking since I used simplex screwed up my windows update.
Wish someone said this before. Should I proceed with this 7? I have a 7 on a failing drive. The updates stopped around April. Says failed.
Don't know if I can clone it before imminent failure. I'll try to sort this 7 out if not back to the failing HDD 7. Let me know
