Good lord, what drugs are you on? Absolutely not. This thread is about bypassing the licensing requirements for obtaining ESU updates, as well as associated relevant topics, including availability of Year 4 and onwards of ESU and stopgaps like 0patch. Put up some ironclad evidence that not a single person on this planet see value in those topics before you suggest that this thread should be killed. You do not get to extinguish that information, shut down the discussion of that topic, and censor future research of that topic just because you personally would rather use 0patch. Too many people on forums do not understand what a forum is... Forum threads do not get closed because a random John Doe comes in and tells everyone "party's over, go home, I think your topic is stupid". Forum threads are only closed when not a single person on the planet is left who is participating in the discussion. There are thousands of people who check this thread regularly. The world doesn't revolve around you.
I tried that last yr & it did not work at all on POS7. But it seems that I may not have had all the info to make it work.
Hopefully some way will be found to make use of POSReady7 updates but if not with 0patch how exactly does that work? I read it updates in memory only so does that mean every time you shut down the computer and reboot it has to re-download the patches?
So what I gather it's doing is downloading a library, which then injects their updates into running processes.
It also indicates that Win 7 will be updated till 2025 and possibly to 2030 if there is enough demand. At $26.75 US a year it's reasonable.

A completely unexpected WU update (KB2952664) just appeared on my PC (Windows 7 Ultimate x64) without warning, literally saying: "Compatibility update to keep Windows up to date on Windows 7" Introduction: This update performs diagnostics on Windows systems that participate in the Windows Customer Experience Improvement Program. The diagnostics assess the compatibility status of the Windows ecosystem and help Microsoft to ensure application and device compatibility for all Windows updates. There is no GWX or update functionality included in this update. Should I install it or not? Is it a simple Telemetry update? Can someone explain to me what it is and why they take it out today, February 7? Best regards and thanks in advance.
JaimeSH: I have Windows 7 Professional SP1 64-bit up to date to January 2023, so I was surprised yesterday to see a Windows Update alert for new updates. When I checked, I discovered 3 of them listed as important updates and dated between 2014 and 2018. I already knew the drill and immediately hid them.
Given the facts around "the end or not the end" of Win 7 it is to be expected, that there will be malware offered. There may be even an update from M$ that might attempt to "convince" you to no longer use it, because your computer may suddenly and miraculously fail at certain things... My experience tells me, that there seem to be several people her, who know what they are doing. And when they find anything, they will tell.... That is what worked just fine, three years ago.
I have Win 7 Pro installed; have Edge installed - I had thought when you installed the Win 7 Edge it disabled IE. But I am getting updates from WU for Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer 11 for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems. If I hide this, it reappears again and again. Should I install this even though IE should be disabled, and if I do will it reappear again??
See this post. I ended up hiding 6 IE updates and not installing any of them. Looks like Msoft botched things up once again.
Well, on my WIN 7 Pro I installed Edge, and it DID disable IE 11. I checked it out in Control Panel's Features and it definitely shows IE is not an active Feature any longer. There was a time when Edge was available for Win 10 and beyond, but at some point MS offered it to Win 7 and above. My question remains, if I install the IE11 update, will THAT stop WU from notifying me there is another IE update?
