They stopped the nag to upgrade and get a free win 10 license but never stopped it for real. That is what is patched by MSFT. So you claim upgrading fom activated 7/8.1 to 1709 will still give us a fee hwid?
Man, I don't know what will give what to whom, but the upgrade from a licensed W7 to W10 on the first option and on the second is free and activated automatically. Works to this day.
Moin @ All! My October 2023 ESUpdate experience for Windows 7 Pro SP1 x64 systems: "Licensing method": KB4528069 & "new" BypassESU-v12 "Installing method": Manual download and installation via Microsoft®Update-Catalog KB5031001 (Security and Quality Rollup for .NET Framework 4.8) -> succesfully installed KB5031355 (Cumulative Security Update for IE 11 for Windows Embedded 7 Standard / Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1) -> succesfully installed KB5031441 (Security Only Quality Update for Windows Embedded 7 Standard / Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1) -> succesfully installed KB5031658 (New Extendet Servicing Stack Update Windows Embedded 7 Standard / Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1) -> succesfully installed The following additional updates were offered by the Microsoft servers via the Windows Update Search and were also successfully installed: Security Intelligence-Update for Microsoft Security Essentials & .NET 6.0.23 Security Update for x64 Client (KB5031900). @ abbodi1406: Thx for your support! Great job!
Enthousiast Buddy, what did you two expect if he has a pirated activation from By Dazz? I clearly wrote - LICENSE WINDOWS. That is, with official activation, not cracked. What claims can I have after that if he used a cracked activation. Or are you all sitting on cracked activations? By the way the 28th of August 2023 the information was still up to date. It was not activated most likely because of a pirate license. Either way, using a vulnerable system as your primary system is dumb. It is better to install W10 and run W7 in a virtual machine if you need it so badly. I have already decided for myself - in the new year I will switch to W10.
Daz Loader is not a crack. What they actually blocked is the upgrade from a (legit or not) Windows using OEM:SLP licensing. That means, individual, unique keys should still work.
Oh my goodness, I see this is now 381 pages long. Okay, I think earlier this year or last year, before I actually opened an account here, I was quite impressed by the professional tone of the OP and assistance from other MDL community members here and downloaded a fair bit of information I wanted to study to learn all about how to do this update job. But about mid-last year I had to go into a special new chemical intake for the cancer that moved to a very dangerous place, the membrane around my brain. Well, either the swelling then of that membrane, or that special chemical, or both has been a bit of a problem for proper use of my brain and so I stopped the project to study this thread's key point of getting all those Windows 7 updates. But that special chemical worked really fine and I think that as I now seem to have had a few more years added to my life, I can try again to gain ground on this project for at least one of my units, maybe two. I have a unit at the other residence that I think was the one I paid Microsoft for extra updates, but circumstances haven't favored my getting back to the other residence and working on that unit. So I am very likely not able to just pay Microsoft more money and will try this system here. Plus their support site is stating no support from Microsoft now, and I think maybe their tech volunteers follow that line, too. Now, at least one unit has been regularly receiving the "Security Intelligence Update for Windows Defender Antivirus" / KB915597 updates. But I am seeing just above this post what seems to be other updates. If I have a unit that hasn't received anything but KB915597 for a few years, how many updates will I be looking to install if I go full speed into this project? Oh yes, and it was in 2020 that I last received anything other than KB915597, but maybe an image can help here, if my using IE11 on this site will allow me to upload and insert an image. Let me try: Okay, maybe I did that correctly. Thank you to anyone for any help here.
Not many, if the system is up-to-date Jan 2020. First, the SHA2 and ESU preparation updates, which are preconditions for using ESU Bypass. The Bypass will explicitly tell you the KB updates missing when you run it. Then, Standalone ESU Patcher (linked in post #1). Run it and select Windows 7 Embedded. After that, install the latest Bypass ESU, and updates should start flowing in. As per MS' new rules after 2016 (no more individual updates), it is usually one SSU (Servicing Stack Update for the WU components themselves), one Cumulative .NET update and the LCU (Latest Cumulative Update package for the OS).
Thank you for the information. And I just pulled this unit off of its vacation --- also a Windows 7 OS --- but much of this unit is Japanese only and I wonder if there would be extra updates for a unit that primarily requires Japanese? In fact, I am also not sure which version of Windows 7 this unit is (I'll check after posting) but does a different version have any impact on updates? You'll forgive me for leaning too much on you for answers that I should already have (and may have had once) but that "may have had" is the key. I'm not 100% sure how much my stupid brain is going to work when I start into this project, so if I have an expert (or close to expert) like yourself, I might keep from doing something stupid and having to do that system restore thingy. Do you consider yourself an expert? Or close? Just a curiosity question, more or less. And digging into this Windows 7 updating can be a warm-up for my Windows 10 unit. I know that Windows 10 can be a real pain with regard to this sort of project. But that's another sub-forum, so I'll cease on that line of thought here. I'll close with another thank you - - - thank you.
Excuse me for asking... I could understand someone slowly panicking with Win7 getting older, wanting to upgrade to Win11, in case Win12 might turn pout to actually be a really good OS. But... why on earth would anyone want to upgrade from a perfectly fine Win7 to the worst thing ever to come from MS ?
There might be some updates specific to Unicode/Japanese/IME etc. With the Bypass installed and working, these will then also be offered. The term Expert is overused, these days. Let's just say that I know some more stuff than the average user. Additionally, I learned and completed a profession in the IT field, although I never could work in it, for health reasons. Still, there is lots of things I don't know, as the IT field is a very vast one. However, the beauty of a community forum is that others may chime in where I have to pass.
I'm not forcing or agitating anyone to use on a system that is as holey as a colander. If you like it, go ahead. These are your risks. As for W10, the system is quite successful according to experts and testers on YT, 99% of problems are fixed, but W11 is now in the state of W10 of seven years ago - "crude" so far, for enthusiasts. Well, the W12 is in beta testing. That's it, I've made a choice for myself, I'm no longer interested in proving anything to anyone, and I didn't even try. Jedem das Seine. (c)
You don't seem to know what DAZ loader does? MSFT doesn't know the difference between an original OEM (slic+cert+oem:slp) or an emulated Slic+cert+oem:slp. The devs from MAS will know what they do and they said it can't be done that way anymore. At the mentioned date msft didn't have it patched, msft closed it at Sept. 26. 2023 not in August..
Yes, you're just poking a hornet's nest and when you get stung you insist you didn't do anything. Basically a sarcastic way of asking a mechanic who does tires to recharge your AC.
After installing Edge, Windows or Edge itself offered me to switch to Edge if I ever opened IE, as it already was obsolete at the time and now everytime I open IE, it closes and Edge opens automatically.
Current Microsoft browsers versions: IE11 - 11.0.9600.21615, Edge - 109.0.1518.140 P.S. Do this to use IE11.
