Well there's already been 4 years of ESU updates. I think they will prefer to focus on W10 ESU.
However Updates from POSReady 7 will be released until Oct. 2024 and might work for regular W7 and 2008 R2.
Maybe ESUBypass will have to be updated to work with it. We will see in February 2024 how it turns out.

    Win7 & Server 2008 R2 & Server 2008 all have 4/5/6 years licenses/keys
    none are used by MS

It could work with vLite, but it's pretty old and there's really no point. I mean come on, actually using, let alone prepping Vista/7 images for WIM deployment in 2023 is like me putting Windows XP on every system I could get my hands on in 2015-- and it was bad enough back then when a few people still made it work!
The best you can do now is build and maintain a reference VM that can be persistently deployed to any remaining physical systems that need it.

December update is here: "2023-12 Security Monthly Quality Rollup for Windows Server 2008 R2 for x64-based Systems (KB5033433)"
Any news on whether we'll see a .NET update or not this time around?

I am on LTSC 2021, so I am not concerned about the EOL of Windows 10. I will investigate 11 LTSC when it is released next year in H2 2024 and decide if I will upgrade at that time or wait.

    Moin @ All!

My December 2023 ESUpdate experience for Windows 7 Pro SP1 x64 systems:

    "Licensing method": KB4528069 & "new" BypassESU-v12

"Installing method": Manual download and installation via Microsoft®Update-Catalog

KB5033376 (Cumulative Security Update for IE 11 for Windows Embedded 7 Standard / Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1) -> succesfully installed

KB5033424 (Security Only Quality Update for Windows Embedded 7 Standard / Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1) -> succesfully installed

The following additional updates were offered by the Microsoft servers via the Windows Update Search and were also successfully installed: Security Intelligence-Update for Microsoft Security Essentials.

@ abbodi1406: Thx for your support! Great job!

Just realised I didn't get the Nov or Dec updates, using WSUS Proxy (tried the Embedded version also) and BypassESU v12u. Is this a me problem or intended?

Based on what you said & your question, I would lean towards a "you" problem. Several ways to use the tools provided. I would estimate 99% seem to find a way to stay updated monthly.

I use the tools you described to keep WU working. When WU alerts me that updates are available I manually download them from the catalog & update myself. I only use WU for alerts. When alerted, I run Win Defender to check for & update itself. I follow the instructions when updating .NET 3.5.1 & 4.8 for Windows Server 2008 R2 x64. I use the Windows Server 2008 R2 x64 version for all of my updates currently.

I use these columns to stay updated on current events & I use comments like @Sinclair ZX81 MDL Novice for updates like the KB5033376 (Cumulative Security Update for IE 11 for Windows Embedded 7 Standard / Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1). WU does not give me this one but when I get the KB number from @Sinclair ZX81 MDL Novice I, again, get it from the catalog & install myself. It works. The system works.

Thanks to all who provide. ;>)

Installed manually from Windows Catalogue. Not sure why WU isn't cooperating for me

Do you have WU turned off?

Click(double click?) on Control Panel; then click on Windows Update; at this point you will see your settings & whether it is even on. If it is off click on "change settings" & make your choices. You can access the Control Panel from the Start Button. I have a short cut on my desktop. This is also how I access Windows Defender to check for Win Defender updates. Lots of info help here & via any search engine. Good luck. ;>) Images below are from my computer.
