Great job!
No. I didn't it before try install the updates mentioned above. The option you mention is part of the BypassESUv12u script?
Yes you cannot install ESU updates without ESU Bypass if you prefer to download and install .NET 4 updates manually, then you can use the standalone installer https://forums.mydigitallife.net/posts/1596676/
I have had the bypass installed for a long time (version 12). Should I reapply it every month every time I have to install net framework updates?
The option you mentioned to install the bypass for net framework updates was already installed before I tried to install the net framework updates. I didn't remember this. Therefore, the error when trying to install updates occurs for another reason.
The log is not clear in what it says. I have bypassESU12 installed with the optional bypass for net fw updates and it generated the error that you see in the log file.
I just applied this method. But I would like to know what is the way to ensure that the updates have been installed correctly? Does the script create any log files that can be examined later? Tnks
The error in the log means the bypass is not installed or not working check if Antivirus is blocking or removing msiesu.dll file, or registry: Code: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\msiexec.exe] It will report error code if it fail
Maybe another possibility (no expert so just delete this if incorrect). He may also be forgetting to re-enable .net bypass if he turns it off.
Excuse me. I have checked Windows regedit yet I couldn't find the 'msiexec.exe' key in the mentioned route. What shall I do then? I am already making use of Kaspersky Cloud Free in this pc with windows 7 since I consider it pretty useful for my job. Besides, I think it is the best av for win 7. :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: The script closed automatically without error msg. (Net 4 fw esu)
I paused the av protection and re apply op 7 (install net bypass). After, I try manually install KB5040123 and KB5039891 --> the installation ls complete without errors Tnks aboddi
@aboddi, Apologize if this has already been answered, it's a long thread. With the POSReady 7 support ending October 8th, is there any other NT 6.1 version with a longer lifecycle or is this the end? It looks like browser options for Win7 will carry on for at least another year or two with Mozilla's announcement of continuing support past September and forks like r3dfox so there is that at least for us diehard Win7 users.
