Yes, I understood that, but the only example I've seen so far was Pro Tools, which I believe to have been fixed for some time.

I'm struggling to install KB5044356. It downloads but fails to install. I'm getting error: Code 8024200D Any tips or advice? It appears that everything was installed and working correctly, but this update is giving me a lot of problems and won't install. I'm using Windows 7 Enterprise.

The update is 2024-10 Security Monthly Quality Rollup for Windows Server 2008 R2

Hello, please don't take it badly if this question has already been answered many times, but is there still a possibility to get updates after 10/2024? Or is it finally over now?

Go to page 408 (top or bottom of this page). Several comments answering your question. You need to know which version your system is: x86, x64, embedded, etc...
Most of us running Win7 x64 are hoping to use Win Server 2008 R2 x64 updates through Jan 2026...

if I installed a fresh copy of Windows 7 Enterprise, are these the steps I should follow?

    1. run windows update and install updates until there's no more updates.
    2. install the Bypass ESU windows update prerequisites (KB4490628, KB4474419, Latest SSU (KB5017397 or later), KB3138612, KB4575903 and KB5016892)
    3. install BypassESU (BypassESU-v12_u.7z)
    4. install WU ESU Patcher (Win7_WU_ESU_Patcher.7z)
    5. run windows update and install updates until none are available.

Is this order correct? Am I missing anything?

And install all other fix updates from the microsoft update catalog manually.
Remember that some updates are not offered in the internal windows update (catalog) from windows 7 itself.

Thank you, I didn't follow the instructions exactly, but I finally got it working. I had to do a fresh install, but everything works. I'll list the steps I did below.

    1. Installed Windows 7 Enterprise
    2. Installed KB3138612
    3. Checked for windows updates, installed them, rebooted
    4. Repeat above a few times until there's no updates available.
    5. Ran MAS to activate windows.
    6. Installed KB4490628 (it told me the update was already installed)
    7. installed KB4474419 (it told me the update was already installed)
    8. installed KB5017397
    9. Installed KB4575903
    10. Installed KB3138612 (it told me the update was already installed).
    11. Ran BypassESU_12v - Selected option #1
    12. Reboot
    13. Checked for windows updates, installed them, rebooted
    14. Repeat until there's no updates available.
    15. Installed KB5016892
    16. Ran Win7_WU_ESU_Patcher - Selected option #2
    17. Reboot
    18. Checked for windows updates, installed them, rebooted
    19. Repeat until there's no updates available.

Done! If you follow those steps, everything should work correctly and you should be as up-to-date as possible.

Sorry for asking a maybe stupid question, but I'm confused.

Is current BypassESU also able to receive Premium Assurance updates up to 2026 if patched as Windows Server 2008 R2 with Win7_WU_ESU_Patcher?
Or do we need a new version of BypassESU to be made?

    Thanks.

Edit: oh... should have read a little higher. I guess we don't need a new version then?

    Yes

new version is only needed for ".NET 4 ESU Bypass" to support new updates
because current version emulate POSReady 7, which supposedly will not receive any further updates

Updates for x64 Server 2008 R2 just dropped, not yet using the new .NET 4.x standalone installer and here's what I got on 7 Enterprise.

    2024-11 Security and Quality Rollup for .NET Framework 3.5.1, 4.6.2, 4.7, 4.7.1, 4.7.2, 4.8 for Windows Server 2008 R2 for x64 (KB5046543)
2024-11 Security Monthly Quality Rollup for Windows Server 2008 R2 for x64-based Systems (KB5046687)
    Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool x64 - v5.130 (KB890830)

Don't see anything on Update Catalog for x86, R.I.P.
