Once the old test ESU update is installed successfully, it should be able to install all ESU updates, without the need of the bypass installed. it did for the ssu and rollup. https://forums.mydigitallife.net/th...pdates-eligibility.80606/page-58#post-1577353
Carefully prepared W07pro for Feb ESU issues. All Feb ESU UPDs (not incl SSU KB4537829 update) installed correctly. Following UPDs. re-tested v4 ByPass with KB8069 (install/uninstall), all fine. Installed Feb SSU update, re-tested ByPass with KB8069, failed as expected (experienced in previous posts). Using PowerRun v1.3, edited "Permanence" directive out of KB7829's MUM file and re-saved MUM. Back to Windows Update to find installed KB7829 for removal... not listed. Checked install history, was installed. Any ideas?
OK, more vague information. When I get to this part of the instructions for removing KB4537829, it says "and search for the main .mum file for the update". When I do there are 3 .mum files. Which would be "main"?. I may just dump Win7 for Linus Mint.
Great project this, thanks to all involved! A lot to read and get ones head around, this is what I did, perhaps it may help someone. Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 (retail) ran installer.bat as admin manual installed kb4537767 manual installed kb4537813 reboot ran remover.bat as admin reboot all good, both updates report success in windows update log. roll-on March...
Using Windows 7 Pro 64-Bit On Desktop PC & Notebook with the tool provided on page 1 for the February 2020 Windows updates work great. No problem whatsoever. The Office updates will automically update throught the windows updates. Great job on developing this software tool.
I thought POSReady updates didn't work on regular 7, as far I'm aware. Anyway, about these updates, does it matter if one wishes to go with security rollups only or the separate updates (such as the security and IE update for this month)? I'm going with the former just for convenience.
So is KB4528069 absolutely needed to install KB4537813? (I don't use Internet Explorer 11). Also, does anyone know if KB4537813 fix the "you don't have permission to shut down this computer." bug?
I installed the February updates successfully in my Win 7 Pro x64 VM. I installed in this order: 1. Bypass v4 2. test update (KB4528069) 3. KB4538483 (Extended Security Updates (ESU) Licensing Preparation Package for Windows 7) 4. restart 5. KB4537829 (Servicing Stack Update) NOT RECOMMENDED 6. restart 7. KB4537767 (IE11) 8. restart (?, I don't know anymore) 9. KB4537820 (monthly rollup) 10. restart I'd like to attach a screenshot but found no option. EDIT: yes, I installed the ne SSU before the monthly rollup for testing purposes, but I wouldn't recommend it for now. In this testing machine I'll also test the March updates together with hopefully new bypass.
Less components, less attack surface, less updates. So yeah i won't miss any of the Remote Desktop/LNK Remote/Windows Remote updates i've never needed Besides, POSReady runs everything that a pro/ultimate runs, and that's more than enough for me.
