Official source for what. The offered updates are superseded. Mine all date back between 2014-2018. Just hide them until Ms fixes it (if ever). No need to install, just hide 'em if bothers you to see these being offered. IMHO Ms only has ESU half-baked because prior to the Feb Updates, WU didn't offer all of these old updates and needs to work on it a bit more. If you want an official source, you need to compare the offered versions of the update files with those on your system to see that they are old and have been replaced with newer versions.
I'm having a Win Server 2008 r2, when i try install any of updates i get message that "windows module installer must be updated" how do i fix ? Also the KB4528069 fails to install
wrong post quoted, fixed When you install https://forums.mydigitallife.net/posts/1577497/ with the bypass running, you don't need the bypass anymore and you can install all ESU stuff, till msft screws it up in the future.
Logically, no. Installing the FEb SSU used to break the bypass but since we knoww that KB4528069 allows to install all feb ESU without bypass (uninstalled) so logically you will be able to install the SSU with the monthly roll-up without that interfering with it.
It's just the way Windows Update works. It's kind of blind and dumb (shades of MS itself at times). With limited logic, it digests whatever you just received, then asks if you want more. And more. And sometimes more after that. The good news is, it eventually wears out and goes away. But in some cases, depending on whatever perceived deficits it finds on your system, this may take half of forever (like when cloning or drive imaging your WinOS from one disk drive to another, resulting in your update history being left in the dust). THIS. Summed up to the "T". Meaning you either make their clueless WU updater happy by accepting whatever it proposes, or you decline its offerings by hiding them (right click, hide update). Again, be prepared to right click and hide a lot in certain scenarios. As for the KB890830 patch so many have been citing as of late, this is the strictly optional MS Malicious Software Removal Tool. Bring it into your tools fold if you care to use it. That's a no harm, no foul kinda weak Freddy safety app, but nonetheless safe to use for all setups.
in order for KB4528069 to be installed, you need first to install the bypass. have you installed it ? then once the update has been installed, you can uninstall the bypass.
OK, so, I just went through and uninstalled the bypass (I even ran the .bat remover 3 times to make sure the bypass was uninstalled), then downloaded & installed the Feb SSU. As far as I can tell, the install of the Feb SSU was successful. After installing the Feb SSU, is it necessary to restart the computer? And, if a restart isn't necessary, do I now simply wait for the March 2020 ESUs?
I notice you can install the 2020-02 rollup WITHOUT installing v4 fix, but of course it only breaks after a reboot when applying system modification. Ha! So it seems the final check for valid ESU may be at very last stage of install process of .msu file. I was expecting it would break as soon as you try to install, but no, at bootup stage. Interesting! Seems to me, in future slipstream may be possible which will be good.
So i guess that is because of missing updates. Make sure that these 3 prerequisites updates are installed on your machine before installing the bypass : KB4490628 -> KB4474419 -> reboot -> kb4536952 if one of them is missing, download them from MS server.
Because sometimes I do use IE 11. I have two Windows 7 machines, and they are both getting some WU notifications to install old Windows Update Stuff, including this are IE Cumulative updates. Some are dated 3 and 4 years ago insofar as when they were released. Windows seems to not understand I already have manually installed the IE K4537767 update. Was wondering if anyone else is experiencing this
I hate to add to the confusion, but I successfully installed the Rollup update for Windows 7 x64 (KB4537820) directly after installing ESU bypass and without installing KB4528069. The only thing installed on the computer is KB4537820. I've since removed the bypass.
Okay so that worked, i was missing KB4490628. I installed the kb4528069 and installed february 2020 updates. Now i'm just waiting for this tool to allow windows update to download automatically these updates
Does it still make any sense to install the test update KB4528069 now ? The february updates were successful without this test update, I have this file on my hard disk though. No, or ?
