Hi, thanks to all for this great project. Maybe this is a stupid question, but is there any possibility to check if the bypass-fix has been installed successful? How can I determine if my windows installation is ready to get updates in the future?
Hi folks, i have some questions about the new "KB4528069-Lite" method: 1. Is there any performance impact (like "IFEO BypassESU.dll" or "Avfr gesu.dll" method - ESU bypass tools comparison table, post #1)? 2. Is the install of KB4538483 needed? 3. Norton claims both "superuser" files as malicious... -> problem? 4. Is there any "undo KB4528069-Lite online installer" available or necessary? Since microsoft started these rollup updates, I'm using sec. only updates to avoid telemetry (skipped july '19 update). I'm unsure which way (a or b) I should choose now: a) - bypassESU on - KB4528069 (ESU-Test) - reboot - KB4538483 (required?) - bypassESU off - KB4537767 (ie11 Feb.'20) - reboot - KB4537813 (sec. only Win7 x64) - reboot - no install of SSU KB4537829 b) - KB4528069-Lite online installer - KB4537767 (ie11 Feb.'20) - reboot - KB4537813 (sec. only Win7 x64) - reboot - KB4537829 (SSU Feb. '20) regards Matthias (germany)
With Bypass v4 there already wasn't any affect on the system/WU performance, the lite edition also none. The full ESU Bypass official tutorial shows all needed info. About KB4538483, xxx time: https://forums.mydigitallife.net/th...pdates-eligibility.80606/page-73#post-1578451
Hello everybody. Please check first page of this forum, for the 2 methods to MANUALLY download and install Feb ESU updates. Using windows update WON'T work. Interesting point: I managed to install the ESU updates with BypassESU version 3 including SSU(previous version still works). Hope this helps.
One more question (sorry for that), we may have misunderstood us: When I use the tutorial "bypassESU v4" (https://forums.mydigitallife.net/posts/1578167/) and install the Feb '20 SSU (KB4537829) afterwards, then i'm not able to use v4 again (for March, April and so on), right? Because SSU "brinks" the "bypass v4" way. Are both installing tutorials compatible? -> Is it possible to use bypassESU v4 for February and later "KB4528069-Lite" for March? Or must I finally decide for one of the methods before? Is the bypassESU v4 way the "more official way", because the original KB4528069 update will be used?
After KB4528069 successfully installed, there is no need for the ESU Bypass or the lite version anymore, at least for now.
Modified the official tutorial to include the DEVs recommendation to use the KB4528069-Lite version and how to use it: https://forums.mydigitallife.net/th...pdates-eligibility.80606/page-70#post-1578167
Woooooha, thanks for your answers. I'm getting more and more confused. (Maybe there's a point missing in my knowledge about this topic...) What is the benefit for use the lite version instead of ESU Bypass? Is it the possibility for Offline Integration? Any other benefit I don't see in the moment? My knowledge: Step 1: a) The ESU Bypass v4 helps to get KB4528069 installed. I can remove ESU bypass afterwards. or b) run "Lite" script instead of ESU Bypass Step 2: Now I am able to install the rollup (or IE11 and secu. only) and the Feb. SSU. But the Feb. SSU blocks/change something (?) to get ESU bypass not working again -> correct? Also when or only when I don't remove it in Step 1? -> Here I've lack of knowledge... Does the Feb. SSU the same block/change with the Lite version?
Once the KB4528069 or the KB4528069-Lite is installed, the bypass is NOT needed anymore. You can install any update (ESU or not). The fact that the Feb SSU breaks the bypass has no importance. KB4528069-Lite is better because it is easier to install (no need for bypass) and it allows the offline integration of updates. You cannot install KB4528069-Lite if the full KB4528069 is already installed. You have to choose one or the other.
Yes I read the info. Maybe my english grammar is not the best or you don't understand my way of asking questions. I wanted to know if there is any other benefit (except offline install) for use lite version instead of ESU Bypass.
