I am just curious what you guys use for imaging software? I usually use acronis image but lately version 2019-2021 it takes multiple hours for some reason on a SSD with only 170 of data on it. I tried macrium reflect which lasts for 20 minutes and then my PC turns off. This is the reason I am asking the question.

    Your opinions are welcomed.

    TIA

Use Macrium Reflect v8 all the time. Works great. 256GB SSD took about 2 minutes.

Yeah, 256GB SSD with 10GB of used space :tooth:

Image for Linux is the best.

I want to image my win 10 laptop and I would like to know if it is ok to use the laptop when it is being imaged instead of using a LIVE version of the software?

    Thx

Imo, having a dormant Windows is better to prevent stuck files or processes to stop the imaging process, i.e., use a f live bootable version of the software! :tooth:

Yep, I agree with this. If you want a 1 to 1 clone, build something like an Acronis boot USB and hook up an external drive, duplicate your system offline.

If you really bork your system to the point there is no hope of recovery you can literally take that external drive, swap it into your system and it will be back to the exact point you duplicated it, no need to restore anything.

I use Drive Snapshot which can be used with windows running, but as mentioned, it takes like 3 minutes to do a full image and I wouldnt recommend to use the computer while this process is running.
