using wimtweak against win 11 or anything similar will cause Dism ScanHealth errors as it wont hide packages correctly. instead use cbs enum it stilll works well against win 11 and similar
How can I sleep tonight... It's Win 11, it's a throwaway OS anyway, and people here format twice a weak. So even if it was a problem, who cares about it? With wim tweak you can remove multiple packages matching a pattern. It does in one command what otherwise needs a lot of time or a relatively complex dism command.
wimtweak causes dism errors. dism errors cause interrupts why produce broken OS ? you can remove multiple packages at once with cbsenum and you just use mouse to click packages you dont want and it doesnt cause errors. wimtweak is no go anymore even if you got used to it you should move on instead breaking OS only because of you used wimtweak.
Minor dism errors cause nothing, there were well known installations that come with dism errors out of the box For that you need to ask microsoft, not me ...
I have used this (in the off-line version) for years to remove Defender from install.wim, but even in my second test now, it doesn't seem to work with 26100, Defender is still intact (and running) after fresh apply/setup.
Not tested in 26100 (anything after 26052 will be forbidden from my net, until I find a workaround for their latest "innovations"), and anyway obviously mostly I use servers where I can kill defender from the server manager. But I removed (online) the nasty isolated user mode from most Win11/Server11 using wim tweak w/o any trouble.
Minor dism errors cause nothing, there were well known installations that come with dism errors out of the box canary probably when you remove packages that are interlinked to services or other packages and arent properly removed, this will cause interrupts, interrupts mean cpu wont go to 0 when not used and interrupts in task manager will always consume cpu power. For that you need to ask microsoft, not me ... been using win 11 22h2 for almost a year not even once i had issue with it, no dism errors, no interrupts, no sfc errors no event viewer errors and its snappy, fast, and really barebones.
So you changed argument? Dism errors (the ones you are talking about) are corruptions in the *component store*, not about services not properly removed, they have nothing to do with the the running system. Read there may be a problem enabling or disabling an optional feature, or applying an update, but nothing to do with how the current system work. You can even delete most of the component store, if your main point is the storage space and you aren't sick with the last update syndrome. In more comprehensible words for kids, you can have a completely screwed component store, and a perfectly working system at the same time. Is that clear? Whatever I don't want to waste my time (again) with people, like you, who argue just for the sake of arguing, or because trying to seek a sort of revenge because a battle lost in the past. Do whatever you like, I do things I like I prefer, until someone more expert than me introduces something that make my life easier, and that person isn't you, sorry. Oh there are people who eat plastic Macdonalds hamburgers with potatoes fried in the motor-oil and think is the best food in the world. Matter of lack of experience and good taste.
i used to remove package one by one with cbsenum each time i did reboot to avoid problems ;D now i remove them offline
please share procedure. when i tried MSMG It said unsupported version and did not offer MSMG toolkit-helper as a option, only DISM (to uninstall apps).
MSMG also told me something about dism and package but I d'ont bother with that lolll I just disable Defender in the tweaks section...not deleting it caus' it may affect Windows Update !!
