Interestingly some stuff is updated in 2019 as well with features even if they are not advertised in 2019 but only in 365. E.g the latest build 20498 added (to production) hex values for color (yeah not a big feature). An Office 365 installation advertised it, while the 2019 didn't but it works the same in both...
Yes, but like @WindowsAddict said earlier, some other features are not available if you use O2019, for instance XLOOKUP function. Now it's like 6 months that I switched to O365, so I can't confirm if such function is now available on O2019. I was using O2019 and O365 on different machines, both of them updated to the same build, and O365 had it and O2019 didn't.
The switcher worked for rescuing a Retail-VL conversion (KMS_VL_ALL) by pushing it to the Current channel, from which it updated ok. The script did nothing however for a legit VL installation deployed with ODT. The registry was changed to the Current channel, but the ODT-installed VL doesn't want to update to Current, still reporting it's on the latest version (16.0.10363.20015).
So far as per my tests, we can upgrade the version by changing the channel but we can't downgrade. Will test ODT VL scenario too.
It might be because the OS on which I had the ODT installed 2019 VL is 2019 LTSC. As far as I can tell Office 365 latest builds aren't supported on Windows LTSC. Only Office 2019 is supported and I suspect by that they probably mean 2019 VL-only. Since Office Retail 2019 seems to share builds with 365 maybe that's why it refuses to pull those (Current Retail) builds on an Windows LTSC host.
Just finished some tests on windows 10 2004 with office 2019, PerpetualVL2019 downloaded and installed with ODT Result - Changed the channel to current, update reported that it's the current version. PerpetualVL2019 downloaded with YAOCTRU and installed with YAOCTRI (PerpetualVL2019 update channel) Result - same as previous one. 12527.20482 official 2019 retail ISO, installed with YAOCTRI (PerpetualVL2019 update channel) Result - same as previous one. Looks like it's better if the update channel step shows only one option which is 'Default' (queried from the office files) in the YAOCTRI menu.
I recently found only the Japanese edition of HomeStudent2019Retail.img has been removed from the official downloads. Please someone let me know where it's gone, thanx. (I want the official image and no thanx for homebrew one though I know how to create one...)
I've recently reinstalled my OS, now I've got the latest version of Office 2019 via OfficeRTool and activated it via KMS_VL_ALL, but now my read aloud function is grayed out... I don't get what I did wrong, clearly something about licenses got messed up, but I remember doing a similar path before and the read aloud was not grayed. Ok the problem like last time, now I remember and managed to fix it after a scrub, is that installing 2019 suite and then later on installing Visio 2019 causes this issue, I've edied the OfficeRTool.cmd run to have Visio 2019 in the C2R install and after conversion and activation everything works perfectly as expected.
hello everyone, I have Office 2019 (bundled installation with OneNote 2016). recently, I am having a problem with IME. Phonetic keyboard in my native language is inputting wrong text (suggestion is correct but inputted text is wrong), only in OneNote 2016. Text inputting is correct in every other app. Problem is only with OneNote 2016. I have uninstalled-reinstalled IME, but it didn't help. I think uninstalling only OneNote 2016 and reinstalling it later might help. how should I approach this problem? any suggestions, please.
hello everyone, could you, please, give me some info which one seems faster: Office 2019 and Office 2016 (32-bit)?
Hi, I've tried to install Office 2019 on my Windows 10 laptop several times (after removing the pre-installed Office 365 the laptop has by factory defaults) but I keep on getting Office 365 installed instead. I had no problems with this on my desktop PC, which also runs on Windows 10. The WOTOK tool also didn't work. I tried both 2019 Retail and 2019 Volume, but even then I still get 365. What can I do to fix this?
Hi everyone! A newbie question. Before discovering this forum, I downloaded the Office "ProPlus2019Retail.img" from this website: https ://tb [dot] rg-adguard [dot] net/public [dot] php Are these the same images as mentioned on this thread? Or do I need to download it again from this thread? Another question about using the Office 2016 Uninstall script (by Manuel) mention in the first post to completely scrub the office files: I downloaded the .zip folder, how do I use it? Edit: No problems here, the script worked fine.
@abbodi1406 While running the OfficeSctubber cleaning script, Ran cmd as an administrator, still getting "access denied" error when running this command. Steps 1 to 5 were done with no problem. What do I do?
@johntyrhodes I get that error too, cannot be avoided while OS is running (it's related to smart tag add-in or something) can be safely ignored
1. Yeah, I checked the registry folder for that location. It has a "Smart Tag" folder. Should I ignore deleting this and proceed with the install? 2. I have downloaded the Office "ProPlus2019Retail.img" from Techbench site. Does this image contain files for Project 2019 & Visio 2019 installation? Do I need to download other images? I only want these apps installed: Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Project and Visio. Thanks for the help!
1. Yes 2. Yes, C2R installation files are universal for all products see the first post of this thread for tips and tools
1. Read the first post. So, my understanding is that any of these 3 tools can be used to install only word, excel, project and visio from the "ProPlus2019.img": YAOCTRIR, OfficeRTool, OfficeToolPlus. 2. Then Volume licence conversion and KMS Activation can be done by KMS_VL_ALL. 3. One last question: While selecting Product suites or Single apps during installation using YAOCTRI, If I wanted to install only some apps, like Word, Excel & Visio; there are two methods for doing this: a...Select 'Product Suite' option and exclude the non-required apps OR b...Select 'Single Apps' option and select the 3 required apps. Both the methods do the same work, Why are they presented like this? Do they use different Volume conversion & Activation procedures? Are they listed like individual seperate apps or Office 2019 suite in 'Apps & Features'?
