I have few questions regarding newer builds that show "Get genuine office" banner at launch. 1. Are only the retail versions after March (Ver. 2103 and up) affected or latest volume licence builds after March (v1808/build 10372+) are also affected? 2. Is it possible to directly install specific version (eg: 10372.20060) with ODT by modifying config.xml file? I only see 2 options in OCT, "latest" and "1808 10375.20036" when Office 2019 Perpetual Enterprise channel is selected. 3. Will clean installation of ProPlus2019Retail.img (v2008/13127.20616) from Oct. 2020 after converting to VL, activating and disabling updates will also get the genuine banner in future? 4. Does executing "...\officec2rclient.exe" /update user updatetoversion=16.0.13801.20360 fully download 2-3gb worth of content or only few MBs worth monthly patches? Just curious because my internet plan is capped and needs to save bandwidth. Answers are appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi guys! Just recently I found out that there is a version of Microsoft Office Mondo 2016. How is this version different from other versions?
I'm trying to download office using method 1c provided in first post. Currently I don't understand if the ODT is downloading something or not. There is the blinkking cursor but there is not progress of activity.
A few months ago, I did a clean install of Windows 10 on my laptop. I also installed Office 2019 and used kms_all and activated it. Recently I got a warning while opening Office docs that ‘There is a problem with office. You may be a victim of counterfeit software. The office license is not genuine.’ The problem did not go away. Yet, the activation status was 'Product Activated' I found that the original office 19 was 16.0.11929 but it was eventually updated to 16.0.14026 which I believe does this check, I guess and the key installed by kms_all are considered not valid. Even though the office updates were off, how it updated itself from 11929 to 14026 is a mystery. I think I forgot to disable the Windows update service as I found it running in the background. Solution was to do a complete clean install of fresh Windows and then install 11929 back and disable Windows update services. Hope this works now. Just posting a thread in case anyone wants to comment or add anything. Regards.
Officially, Mondo versions are not supposed to be used by anyone in public. There is no licensing method (officially) available for them. I don't know the purpose of making them but looks like they probably use that for internal test purposes, (same as how they made KMS available for Windows Home versions but Officially it's not supported). Mondo 2016 has the most and latest features (in KMS activable products category), it also includes Project and visio apps.
So... is there any reason for not using Mondo 2016? Doesn't it give the same experience as microsoft 365 (minus onedrive)?
No. Although it doesn't include the online features of O365. But it has '2016' in its name and most users assume that it's old so they don't install it and they prefer to go with 2019/21 as it appears to be the latest.
