[DISCUSSION] Microsoft Office 2019

There is no official .img/.iso for Volume Office 2019.
You need to download it with YAOCTRU and install it with YAOCTRI
or with ODT.

 

@Windows_Addict : First my warmest thanks for your MAS that I always use in case of trouble.
In order to install a volume version of Office, I simply dowload the retail version from the OP and use YAOCTRI.
Last time, I downloaded Office 2021 and to my great surprise, YAOCTRI even offered the option to install Office 2019 elements !
Once again, I was impressed with @abbodi1406 job, praise and honours to his work and continuous support over the years !
As a matter of fact, I never understood the need of using YAOCTRU. I made some experiments, but was lost with the many options.
The only reason I see would be to install Office 2019 on Windows 7, but I kept a copy of an official 2002 ISO that does the job.
Did I miss something about YAOCTRU ?

Volume version (direct, not license conversion) of Office can be installed from retail ISO with YAOCTRI.
However, the official Volume version of Office 19/21 is at a lower build and has different files, and has certain limitations (can't change to another update channel).
It's not that the YAOCTRI way of installing the Volume version has any downsides, it's just that it unlocks many things which are locked in Official ODT, i.e. you can install Volume version only from the Volume update channel of Office files.

About YAOCTRU, it allows you to download office files for different update channels.

Stopping the process "Microsoft Office Click-to-Run(SxS) first, then I ran your cmd lines "as Admin".
Update check window popped up and result in showing "latest version" , I had no luck same as before.
Getting two .log files which are "vacant" no text lines, file names are;

Is there any suggestion for getting out from this issue and getting the latest uptate automatically like as previous office verion?

 

No other logs in %temp% or %windir%\Temp?

The official Office retail ISO is publicly available. YAOCTRU is not needed to download it.
On the other hand, if I understand well, YAOCTRIR/YAOCTRI allows the installation of Office Retail/Volume, for whatever desired update channel.
I must be dumb, but I still don't understand in which configuration I would need YAOCTRU, at least for personal use.
Anyway, I am just interested by curiousity as all YAOCTR* work flawlessly .

 

Well, you don't really need YAOCTRU for the normal use case.

For general end-users, Retail .ISO + KMS_VL_ALL is enough.
The users who are looking for some customization in Office installation can use YAOCTRI with their retail ISO.

YAOCTRU is useful in the below scenarios:

• You want the latest insider builds to check the development
• You want Perpetual2019/21 VL update channel files for VL Office deployment. This is the officially supported update channel for the VL office. (It doesn't show that the license not genuine banner, by default).
• You want other update channel files for some testing or for legit use.
• You want the latest current update channel files because MS updates Retail ISO's on a semi-annual basis, IIRC.
• You want to download fast with a proper progress bar and ODT doesn't show the download status bar and it's slow.
• You get the option for Windows 7 separately since Office updates are stopped at Build 12527.#####
• It's a lot easier to use compared to ODT.

There are probably more scenarios why someone may need it.

Excuse me, how can I install Project/Visio with YAOCTRU/YAOCTRI?

In YAOCTRU I selected "Full Office suite", then download and use YAOCTRI, but I can't find Project/Visio options here...

e.g. press 5 and then 7 to turn ON Project/Visio Pro 2021
then press 1 to turn OFF Microsoft 365 Enterprise

and press 0 to proceed

 

I apologize sir; I needed to read more.
In YAOCTRU I was selecting a language not supported by Project/Visio, thus in YAOCTRI there were no such options 5 or 7 -nor any of the 2019 options-.

In another thing, let's say I already installed "Office suite" -by selecting just a handful of apps- in a Project/Visio unsupported language, and also ran activation.

If later I need to install additional apps from Office suite not previously selected, can I just run YAOCTRI again?

For the case of Project/Visio, is it just matter of running again YAOCTRU for a supported language, then YAOCTRI?

And finally, is it good idea to "Disable telemetry" in YAOCTRI?

For those wondering what the configuration.xml edit is required to get the arm64 version, the IMPORTANT edit is change the Channel field in first line of configuration to BetaChannel:

Hi, all. Spent many hours reading this forum, but am still unclear on a couple of things.

To receive latest features and updates, is it possible to install Microsoft/Office 365, which will keep getting the latest updates over time? Or is the only option to install Office 2019 ProPlus (or 2021 for that matter), which will only give security updates?

Is it best to simply install retail version, followed by KMS_VL_ALL_AIO for activation? Or do I need to convert the retail img to VL using YAOCTRI before using KMS_VL_ALL_AIO?

I downloaded the Office 2019 ProPlus retail image, ran YAOCTRI and selected 'Microsoft 365 Enterprise', then 'Monthly Enterprise Channel' (so it wouldn't be flagged as non-genuine, in order to keep receiving updates). Btw, YAOCTRI also did the activation, so KMS_VL_ALL_AIO was not needed after all? After the script was run, I opened Excel to check activation and it says 'Office Mondo 2016'.

What am I missing here? Thanks

1. Yes you can install Office 365 and it will stay updated.
2. No you have to convert to VL, unless you buy a license from MS.
3. If you made the activation renewable you would not need KMS_VL_ALL_AIO, else you have to use it to get a renewable activation task.

Thanks. So, I take it Office 365 is the best one to have feature/update-wise? Is there a separate image link to use to install, or does YAOCTRI take care of that w/the Office 2019 ProPlus image I have?
