You can link the C: directories to another location using ntfs junctions before installing, or move the installed directories and then link (b/c the installer could remove the junctions and replace them with real directories).
Yeah i agree. I suppose an easy to understand guide can be made for the custom install for the non experienced users, or just preconfigured xml can be made for the various types of custom install.
When will the non C2R version be available? Whe need : "Microsoft Office 2019 Volume License ISO [Original from VLSC]"
So I will not be able to customize the installation in any way? Will I be forced to always install all the packages? To activate Office 2019 via KMS I will have to proceed with the conversion to VL?
Is there any way to download ProPlusVL with ODT that is updated to the latest build with monthly channel support?
Both OfficeRTool and ODT will always download and use the latest version by default Latest version as of today is: 16.0.10827.20138 That’s why it’s better to use OfficeRTool or ODT over the available IMG file because the IMG file is now 2 versions behind @LostED and others have done the XML work for you already if you don’t want to read up on the details of the ODT XML. You can use OfficeRTool to check/set that you are on the correct channel, should be “Current/Monthlly” From memory I think it’s option “U” in OfficeRTool and option “1” for “Current/Monthly” channel. Once set OfficeRTool will force the change to the registry, then a update check and the latest version should be downloaded and applied
But does it work for ProPlus2019Volume ODT download I mean setting -> Channel="Monthly" or I am better getting Retail and converting licence to VL?
..So,by default the tool will download only img retail? vl img by default does not exist?...if you want vl only i need converting retail to vl?....
Technically speaking it’s not an IMG it downloads at all, it’s the individual files used for C2R, also what it downloads contains EVERYTHING, both Retail and Volume editions plus Project and Visio. The only difference I know of between Retail and Volume editions of the C2R files is using ProPlus2019Volume or Project2019Volume or Visio2019Volume in the XML file saves you the step of converting Retail to Volume as it already loads the volume license keys for you, apart from that the actual install/files are exactly the same. Regardless of if you install Volume via XML or Retail then convert to Volume it does not matter, in the end you have to be at Volume in order to activate via any method, KMS etc
Read my post above, C2R contains EVERYTHING. Office, Project and Visio https://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/discussion-microsoft-office-2019.75232/page-30#post-1466061
