This is the Office 2021 LTSC thread, not Windows Enterprise 2021 LTSC, which is here: [DISCUSSION] Windows 10 Enterprise/IoT Enterprise (N) LTSC 2021
want a specific version / offline edition ? use one of this tools YAOCTRU YAOCTRI Office(R)Tool For activation (Office Product only) KMS_VL_ALL - Smart Activation Script Office(R)Tool
Hi all a few questions.... Can someone please explain what the difference is between 2021 LTSC and Professional Plus? I assume the updates will be for a longer period on the LTSC? Is it only 1 month worth of updates for the Professional Plus? What is the advantage of installing 365 comparing to 2021? Will KMS_All work on 365? Thanks for any info.
If I understand correctly your issue, the retail ISO that you have downloaded has current channel update files and you used the Ratiborus tool to install with Microsoft_LTSC2021 channel with that same ISO. Perpetual2019/21 VL are the update channels that can't get updates if Office install files are not the same as Perpetual2019/21 VL. They also can't be changed to other update channels. Some time ago I did a test in 2019 about this and this was the error message in log: Code: C2R::TaskUpdateDetection::IsUpdateBlockedBecauseOfVersionChannelPriority {"{\"message\":\"Machine has NonLTSC version and is trying to update to LTSC, Blocking\",\"update to version\":\"16.0.10363.20015\",\"installed version(oldest)\":\"16.0.12527.20482\",\"installed version(newest)\":\"16.0.12527.20482\"}"} C2R::TaskUpdateDetection::GetAvailableBuildVersion {"{\"message\":\"Skipping update because the Update source is not allowed for this machine configuration\",\"Update Version\":\"16.0.10363.20015\"}"} TaskUpdateDetection::DetectUpdateForMajorVersion {"Update detection task succeeded, O16 up to date."} To solve your update issue and get updates for the LTSC channel, you need to uninstall your Office, download the LTSC (Perpetual2019/21 VL) files, and then install Office with the same update channel. To do that, you can use YAOCTRI and YAOCTRU
New odt version block such behavior Trying install ltsc from current release end with error messege and failure. I don't know how it possible to do this, it not make any Sense.
ODT has been blocking that install path from some years now. But alternate method of installation through click to run method can be used to install VL products with perpetual2019/21 VL update channel from retail source. That method is used in YAOCTRI and apparently in ratiborus tool too. However YAOCTRI still blocks installation with perpetual2019/21 VL update channel if source office file doesnt match it, so that users don't face issues in update. But such blocks are not added in ratiborus tool, hence the user here faced that update issue.
You understood my issue correctly, AND you solved it for me. Thank you very much for that; I appreciate it. I also think I like Abbodi's tools better than Ratiborus. I had been using the later since it just happened to be the first thing I found when I went looking for such software. I think I will use Abbodi's stuff going forward since apparently he had the foresight to include code that keeps people from making dumb mistakes like I did. Thanks again.
I used Abbodi's tool to install Office 2021 LTSC version for several months now and is working well. I installed via an original install tool from Microsoft, retained the downloaded build at that time and have installed on my other computers and they all work. I do check the below listed page to determine when updates are available but generally only once a month. If an update has been released I generally go into Office and have it check for updates and if any are available they are downloaded and installed. The below link is what I usually check - hXXps://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/officeupdates/update-history-office-2021 (Cant post a link, I am too new for posting links)
Well. The new interface is being "polished", brought to a better look. The search bar in OutLook is on the left side. Window titles are now in the same style for the main working area and for the Backstage.
Dumb question: I am about to install a clean copy of Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2021; can I install Office LTSC 2021 on it? I only ask because I read the previous preview of Office LTSC 2021 couldn't.
