i'm back with troubles again , yes i realise it's newyears eve so i shouldn't expect advice any soon In the previous post i had 8.8.5 reinstalled and all was working. Now there is 1 thing that is again no longer working and that is schedule any new recordings, i basically go to the guide, click on a show, tell mce to record the movie for example...nothing...it's not added to the recording schedule, it doesn't get the "red bullet" and of course it doesn't get recorded. If i add the recording manually by use of channel and time, same thing, it does not get added/recorded. But the strange thing is, the recordings that were scheduled right after install (december 25th) are still working and still get recorded. I just can't add any new. To be clear, everything else is working, live tv, guide, sound & picture . I'm not entirely sure anymore but it is very possible that i scheduled recordings last wednesday before i uninstalled playready. But now i have manually reinstalled playready by executing PlayReadyPC_x64.msi and i still can't add recordings. Any advice apart from reinstalling again? *edit* it now seems i CAN record and schedule recordings on some channels and NOT on other channels, the plot thickens...but MCE still records the shows i had planned on the channels that i now cannot add recordings on...really strange thing.
I'm using a test system for 24h2 to verify this behavior. I installed garys version of wmc and have epg123 running. I can't get any digital channels on my Hauppauge WinTV Quad.. Its a catastrophe... a real shame. I will try my best to stay on 23h2 until hopefully we can get some sort of fix.
Hi, I'm using wmc 8.1 6.3.9600(from WMC about settings) mod probably something like 8.8.6, on w11 23H2: In the tv settings: Display calibration Brightness, contrast or RGB Color Balance Does anyone have the original video files used for tuning the picture, just shows black screen?
Don't be fooled by the version numbers: Gary's .msi installer is completely different from the .zip-based installers you can find here and has its own versioning scheme: the 8.8.7 .zip package I posted here includes all the necessary fixes required to ensure WMC works on the latest Windows 10/11 versions (fixes that Gary has included in his .msi installer).
My pleasure! Glad to hear it's working again. I'd be curious to know what had caused that regression: Microsoft taking the time to fix it likely means it either impacted other TV software using the same components or was a bug completely unrelated to TV that had side effects on the channels scanning routine
I know the odds of this is a no but, I've been out of it for a while, My 8.1 WMC setup with a cable card is still working fine. Has any hack, or way made to get cablecards or any 3rd party digital TV service working in WMC in 10 or 11?
