His problem is not the default status, but the odd error you get in return if you try to activate it @maur0 Perhaps I tried on Sever 2019 and 2022 (Azure) and the result is the same as yours. I tried also on my Servers 2017/2018 and 2020, and the feature is active (the deactivation command fails), so itis likely controlled by some kernel policy, likely if you SKUwitch to Pro, you can activate it, then you can SKUwitch back to Server (DON'T attempt to SWKuitch if your server is an AD controller!!!)
tried the SKUswitch and it did not work. Also tried the registry tweak and it didn't work. Keep getting this error: PS C:\Users\Administrator> Enable-MMAgent -ApplicationPreLaunch Enable-MMAgent : The request is not supported. At line:1 char:1 + Enable-MMAgent -ApplicationPreLaunch + ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ + CategoryInfo : InvalidOperation: (PS_MMAgent:Root\Microsoft\...gent\PS_MMAgent) [Enable-MMAgent], CimEx ception + FullyQualifiedErrorId : Windows System Error 50,Enable-MMAgent Again as I said previously its not supported in Server 2022.
Not half solved. You typed wrong should be "Enable-MMAgent -ApplicationPreLaunch" not "Enable-MMAgent -ApplicationLaunch" ist gives you the error but 2nd doesn't with or without driver
Damn You're right, although it's very strange. I never type anything normally, I just use the tab and the autocompletion, just like I'm used to in Linux, and clink's history does the rest, just like in bash. Whatever my congrats to MS for spitting a cryptic error on a correct command while not telling anything on a wrong one. Really useful !
The links that Enthousiast posted were only valid for a very short time. I am sure that links to mirrors will be posted soon. The OP (first post in this thread) has links to the Eval version and SVF files that will convert the Eval to full versions if you are in a hurry. They are not the latest, but update files are only a few posts up.
