i stopped using ut for the same reasons, now i use tixati. tried qbittorrent but i don't like it because looks buggy and lacks some features like move completed downloads to another location. you can setup your download/upload (incoming/outgoing) speed from bandwidth tab or by right click on torrent. tixatis ui is different from ut but you will get used to it very quick.
Even I used to use uTorrent 2.2.1 for years. But that 2.2.1 version is not designed for SSDs. It causes a lot of disk thrashing and there are reports of reduction of wear leveling count of SSDs. The SSD bug was fixed from uTorrent 3.4. But honestly I dont care about uTorrent any more. I have a qnap NAS and I have installed ruTorrent (rTorrent UI) and it just works flawlessly. The best part is I don't even have to install any torrent client on my PC any more. I get remote access to it from anywhere in the world and NAS consumes far lower power than keeping my PC on 24x7. So if you have a small low power home server which runs on linux, ruTorrent is the best way forward.
this was extremely helpful, thanks; only, at least half of these options don't exist in my copy; there a way to add them in, or not?
If you can totally get rid of ads etc, fair enough. Otherwise, qBittorrent is very similar, open source and ad-/spy-ware free.
OP updated with Torrent-3.5.0.44090 repack by D!akov with my private Mega link (don't link outside MDL). Mod edit: Don't post link(s) to warez. It's not warez the repack comes with the settings ^^ (pre packed) it's not the Pro package it's the default uTorrent client.
44306 is fake, pls remove the torrent. OP Update with Beta 3.5.0.44266, also added official links and forum link. I usually not mention new releases in OP but there is in the current changelog something I want to explain because it might be confusing for some people. This is since 43458, but that doesn't mean OpenCandy is removed it got updated, the free client still submits metadata, has additional checks for documentation and antivirus-key and of course the program itself.
I recommend tixati, after having used utorrent for many years. For almost one year now, not a single problem...
Come on!!! Don't be off-topic, this thread is about µTorrent. Don't spoil it You have your own already https://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/installed-tixati-finally-fed-up-with-utorrent.74649/
