Or create a .reg file containing... Code: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CABFolder\Shell\RunAs] @="Install this update" "HasLUAShield"="" [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CABFolder\Shell\RunAs\Command] @="cmd /k dism /online /add-package /packagepath:\"%1\"" To add install CAB file option to the right click context menu.
Does this 1909 version "Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1909 (18363.387)" is safe and "near RTM" to upgrade from 1903 ?
That update actually is a public optional update for seekers on 18362, for 18363 the update isn't offered on WU, not even when signed in at the RP ring (18363 still is in the RP ring and it offers .385). BUT, MSFT says that 18362 and 18363 share the same servicing components, so the 18362.387 update is applicable to 18363 too.
I wonder if MDL discussed developments around the removal of the local account option on Windows 10? It has become another reason for me to think again on using Windows 10 entirely, even after the end of Windows 7 support.
Of course it's discussed on MDL, it's discovered on MDL and solved on MDL It's only on HOME and HOME SL, non of the other sku's has this occuring.
its not removed just need to disconnect from network on install and connect once setup is finished. All this hysteria over this when a simple solution is to just unplug the internet cable.
Actually i accidentally discovered it when i was playing around with YAOCTRI being used in the setupcomplete stage of installing windows, i did the testing on a Home + Pro (and both N) versions. When i tested it on Home, i thought it was because of office being installed during setupcomplete but it turned out to be MSFT wanting people to use an online account, and afterwards reverting back to a local account, when desired. They did this on 8.1 too, but at 8.1 you could simply select "create account" and next you could select "use local account".
I ran into this on Windows 10 1903. installing a fresh copy entered an email address ( my MS account is a gmail account) once it fails I got option to use local account. but I only use Enterprise Editions so really did not make the connection.
It's even on 1809 and 1803, the hysteria maybe is caused when a few websites published my finding and @whatever127 his solution, in articles, containing some incorrect info too.
It came up on How-to Geek today, and I did not want to share the link to avoid duplication: however, I think trying to get people to use Microsoft Accounts is a bad idea: people like me insist in local storage only, due to the GDPR. They could have just presented both options side by side with equal prominence.
