(IoT) Enterprise 2021 LTSC is the latest LTSB/C versions: [DISCUSSION] Windows 10 Enterprise/IoT Enterprise (N) LTSC 2021 Links and checksums are provided.
It is all confusing. The iso I posted is Win 10 Enterprise. Isn't it? What is the updated latest version of this (no IoT/N, etc).
Maybe it would be less confusing if you just ask what exact ISO you want? You want an updated Enterprise 2016 ISO? You have to make one yourself, the only official Enterprise 2016 LTSC ISO was released in 2016. You want the latest of the LTSB/C cycle then i linked to the proper thread, carefiully read the OP.
I want to install the exact Win 10 Enterprise I installed in 2016. All years I use that iso and do windows updates to stay current. Instead of doing updates, I want to get a recent version of the iso. I don't want to make one myself.
That won't be offered on MDL, that is considered homebrew (not officially released by MSFT). Then you have to go find some online and hope it is not one with some unwanted stuff onboard.
Here is the thing... Isn't Microsoft selling this stuff? I want to get the latest one they ship (not customize anything). For sure the 2016 iso I have was directly downloaded from Microsoft itself (or checksum verified from a MS source). MediaCreationTool22H2.exe /Eula Accept /Retail /MediaLangCode en-US /MediaArch x64 /MediaEdition Enterprise Using this gets me a 2020 iso (20H1 as far as I recall, 19041).
No Enterprise 2015, 2016 LTSB or 2019, 2021 LTSC can be directly downloaded from msft without a MVS account (or shared links by people who have access). Only Enterprise 2019 LTSC got 3 ISO releases, 17763.1 (first release, had problems when used for upgrade scenarios), 17763.107 (re-release but no N versions) and finally 17763.316 (refresh ISO) The current MCT for win 10 downloads 19045.2006 ESD files from which the ISO is created.
So I had a MVS or MSDN account then to download it. I think they were giving free or trial or something. Like I said, I am not going to be installing any OS unless it is coming directly from the vendor. That iso is from MS. How come I am not getting 19045 Enterprise from MCT? It is 19041. Many thanks Enthousiast.
All official ISOs come from MSFT, and no they never gave free ISO downloads. MCT is for normal Consumer users, but you can get business ESD/ISOs with the MCT combined with some commandline switches, like @AveYo uses with his MCT project. Most simply download the ESD of their liking and run ESD>ISO to create the ISO.
Like I said, they gave free/trial MVS or MSDN or some other account and you could download an Enterprise iso. Or could see checksums of it. Probably this info was posted on this forum as well back then, I do not go anywhere else over the years for windows related stuff. I am not going to run an OS from an iso downloaded from random sites on the net. That ISO is a pristine Microsoft ISO. PERIOD. Thanks for @AveYo link and tip. That should do as it is pulling everything form MS. Appreciated Enthousiast.
Edit: nothing else was necessary. MCT itself downloaded 22H2 Enterprise with this command: MediaCreationTool22H2.exe /Eula Accept /Retail /MediaLangCode en-US /MediaArch x64 /MediaEdition Enterprise My previous issue was that iso was showing 19041 version. Apparently they all do, it is some enablement package that updates to 22H2. Installed OS (without internet connection) is 19045 22H2 Enterprise.
Only mounting the install.wim and running any dism query will show it's 19042/3/4/5 because the 2/3/4/5 is by registry only, problem here is that dism can't mount install.esd (MCT creates ISOs with install.esd) but imagex can. Is there win10_LTSB_2016 Education_Enterprise with media center iso_esd ? Trying to find these repo*. Hanks a lot. P.S: Is there such a thing as Enterprise*Education version in one index ? Somewthing mixed up in my memory and I think I've seen it .. Or maybe it's a glitch after searching the web too many times..
There is only Enterprise 2015 LTSB, 2016 LTSB (+Server), 2019 LTSC (+Server) and 2021 LTSC (2021 LTSC got a real IoT Enterprise 2021 LTSC version).
Good time of day. Has anyone here tried using the "Windows Update MiniTool" to download all the LTSB 1607 update files and integrate them into the official ISO image using W10UI? I intend to install this edition on a virtual machine, having previously disabled access to the Internet and run "Windows Update MiniTool" in it to disable the built-in Windows Updater and start downloading updates without installation.
You really need a tool just to understand in what year/month we are and install the current LCU? Perhaps what's the point at all of disabling WU just to install the same package manually? People on MDL should really stop asking and doing pointless things
Well, I kind of pursue the goal of getting the necessary update packages (.msu/.cab) as easily as possible, so that I don't have to manually download them individually. Accordingly, to immediately get all the necessary update packages in a couple of clicks. Maybe I'm reinventing the wheel with my idea with a virtual machine, and accordingly there is an alternative, much more practical automated way to download all the updates needed for LTSB in a couple of clicks? And one more thing, as it were: in addition to LCU, there is also SSU. Judging by the information of WU in the LTSB edition, which told me that it was downloading an update dated 2018, when I recently configured the system after its installation. Am I correct in assuming it was SSU and not LCU? Well, to prevent the automatic installation of updates, which will, as a result, be potentially ignored by the "WUMT". Although yes, I admit that it is not possible in such a short time - If you connect Internet access for the first time immediately before starting WUMT.
