Man that license stuff is confusing. I don't understand why a digital license means anything or not. I run the thing and it's activated, that's all the matters to me.
To look at things objectively, MS used to release service packs in the XP and win7 days, not as frequent as this bi-annual nonsense, but maybe as much as once a year. Those could break stuff too and would require fixes for programs. Though definitely the frequency at which things can break with win10 is way too high for the average mortal. I can't believe developers are not in an uproar about it.
Yep. I know MS tries not to break anything but windows is so complex now. In the olden days a developer could make something and expect it to work at least for the duration of that OS release.
I bet they do it deliberately to make Win10 as obsolete as possible as fast as possible to bring cloud-based OS to the table as a viable option.
re: LTSB 2016 vs LTSC 2019 One other point in LTSC 2019's favor is Adobe broke (on purpose, seemingly) the 2019 Adobe Creative Suite's compatibility with Win10 1607. I could not install it (legit license) on LTSB and had to use a more up-to-date computer. Pretty outrageous.
How can I boot grub4dos in uefi mode in my bios? Created a multiboot usb containing Windows 10 LTSC + Sergei Sterlec + Kyhi's Rescue disc. The first and third load perfectly fine but not the sergei iso. I couldn't load it up through the win 7/8/10 option and had to go with the 4th option which was for grub4dos. Need some help with this if anyone can shed some light over it.
Just managed to get 2015-16 versions of LTSB on an HP Pavilion DM3-2010sa "single core" 9 year old laptop LTSB 2015 was stable. LTSB 2016 was under 85% load until I disabled defender. LTSC versions are incompatible for the above, they wont install.. Yet same LTSC images install on my i5 7th gen & Xeon based workstation computers, Therefore depending on what windows 10 image you D/L they may or may not be compatible due to hardware requirement's.
¡Hola! ¿Por qué se instala Flash Player si no es seguro? ¿Alguna manera de eliminarlo por completo y de WIM? Thk.- Encuentra esto, ¿trabajo? Code: dism / online / remove-package /packagename:Adobe-Flash-For-Windows-Package~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~10.0.17134 dism / online / remove-package / packagename: Adobe-Flash-For-Windows-WOW64-Package ~ 31bf3856ad364e35 ~ amd64 ~~ 10.0.17134.1 dism / online / remove-package /packagename:Adobe-Flash-For-Windows-onecoreuap-Package~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~10.0.17134.1
MSMG Toolkit can remove Flash Player from the wim file never to return. Not sure about removing it online with dism. Some packages can be removed that way and some can't depending if they have the permanence flag set. Yeah that damn Flash Player, thought we were finally seeing the end of that awful virus program until MS went and built it into Windows, that's one for the books.
I'm sure this has been asked before, but is there a built-in method to disable Windows Updates (in LTSC 2019)? Is there a reliable non built-in method? Thanks in advance
Run Command Prompt as administrator, use commands Code: SC stop wuauserv Reg.exe add "HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\wuauserv" /v "Start" /t REG_DWORD /d "4" /f Download Windows Update Blocker v1.1: sordum.org/9470/windows-update-blocker-v1-1/
LTSC works fine for Gaming unless you want to play something like Sea of Thieves which is tied to the Microsoft Store and/or XBOX Live.
