If the naming convention will be still maintained, the next version should be LTSC 2022. Usually it should be released near October-November like previous versions, on MS site it's announced as "second half 2021". But the big question right now is: will LTSC 2022 be based on the new Windows 11, on Windows 10 21H1 or, if it will ever exist, on Windows 10 21H2 ?
No i am not on 1809 LTSC refresh or wont switch to LTSC 2022 in any way . Will stay with win11 as virtual OS cuz main Host os always be Ultimate win7 with updates integerated by Enthousaist using his Simplix AIO tool being one the the best tool for win7 Updates Installer.
I've got a relatively new install of Win LTSC 2019 which is working really well for now Edition: Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC Version : 1809 Os Build: 17763. 2028 After putting the os up to date I saw this under the last update info: June 15, 2021-KB5003703 (OS Build 17763.2028) Preview Windows 10 Enterprise 2019 LTSC Windows 10 IoT Enterprise 2019 LTSC More... Release Date: 6/15/2021 Version: OS Build 17763.2028 NEW 6/15/21 IMPORTANT This release includes the Flash Removal Package. Taking this update will remove Adobe Flash from the machine. For more information, see the Update on Adobe Flash Player End of Support. 5/11/21 REMINDER Windows 10, version 1809 reached end of service on May 11, 2021 for devices running the Enterprise, Education, and IoT Enterprise editions. After May 11, 2021, these devices will no longer receive monthly security and quality updates that contain protection from the latest security threats. To continue receiving security and quality updates, Microsoft recommends updating to the latest version of Windows 10. We will continue to service the following editions: Enterprise G, HoloLens, and the LTSC editions for Client, Server, and IoT Does this mean the os is no longer supported with security updates ? I was under the impression that these were long term os's like 10 years ? Is there a newer version that I can update to without a complete re-install ? I've quite gotten used to not having the whole "Windows experience:" apps and all that. Sorry for the long winded post Bob Sorry for the long winded post
This line that you posted answers your question: We will continue to service the following editions: Enterprise G, HoloLens, and the LTSC editions for Client, Server, and IoT
Appreciate the reply, I just don't know the difference between Enterprise and Enterprise LTSC, assumed they were the same, obviously they are not. Do we know end of life for the Enterprise LTSC ? Thanks Bob
I will test the new LTSC and probably will use it on my machines, because I like to experiment and try new OSes (except regular editions of Windows, that I find overbloated and de-bloating them is just a waste of time). I will continue to use LTSC 2019 in other people's machines because I know its stability and because the updates support for it will end on 2029, while the support on the new LTSC will end on 2027, that is 2 years earlier (but probably I will check the IoT version of the new LTSC, that should last until 2032).
Have anyone tried install windows 10 iot enterprise LTSC? Seems it's the only version that is going to have 10 year support cycle.
