I've read server doesn't have the 4 xbox services and the "people/contacts" in the taskbar which ltsc ships with.
This proves to me that MSFT knows that people are going to use LTSB(C) on their personal computers. All the previous talk about it only being for ATM's is obviously wrong. "xbox" and "people" are not for an ATM.
Thanks for the info! Does that require bios modding? If so, then I'll just stick with kms.. too much pita in my case. Edit: I'm talking about OEM:SLP activation, not "dirty hacking"
LTSB 2015/2016 and LTSC have years of support ahead of them so longevity is not an issue, but which one is the best option for day to day use? I suspect 2016 is the most user friendly and LTSC 2019 is up to date and faster but presently less stable and harder to customise. Is 2019 worth the effort? If it is could we have a thread dedicated to taming this release? At the moment the more I read about LTSC the more I am losing interest.
In theory, the Loader could be updated to also serve SLIC 2.5. In practice, we have to wait until such a SLIC+cert+key surfaces. MS has already restricted OEM:SLP and they might introduce further ones. For the foreseeable future, KMS is the way to go. You won't lose anything - switching is possible at any time (not so with "dirty hacking").
The loader didn't get updated when server 2016 keys were offered, and it didn't get updated for UEFI use, don't count on it to be updated now.
Opinions are like a**eholes.. we all have one my main in on stable as rock ltsb 2016 ltsc 2019 im using in vmware and have an upgraded image in storage
it's not only you can believe, because after the release of Builds 1803/1809 for me Windows has turned into a mobile application
nonetheless it's a lot of fun and challenging to customize and tweak to your liking and push the envelope. I'm lucky I've got a few old Lenovo servers with single and dual Xeons to play with and barebone LTSB/LTSC is just perfect my aim is to make the CPU when idling quiet like a mouse pissing on cotton and when hitting the pedal to the metal getting full instant power without Windows 10 background junk getting in the way! so far LTSB 2016 rules! LTSC 2019 needs some work.
Unfortunately, I have just one machine and it has to earn its keep, let me know if you achieve your goal with 2019.
Sorry for this question. What should I do to install windows after following Optimize Offline Scripts - LTSC 2019 RS5 at page 12? Thanks.
this new version of Windows is really putting me to the test hehe I'm already getting tired of disconnecting the SSD and putting some HDD to test this crap that was made for the alienated generation (those who wake up and sleep with that cell phone junk with that face of idiot 24 hours a day) I think and there's a lot more; although I'm a humble and curious self-taught developer but I'm not blind or dumb think to myself: the new version of Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2019 comes "built-in" Onedrive, M $ FT Skype, Mixed Reality, Quick Assist APP, M $ FT Connect APP, Home Group, Quick Assist APP, WMP (in normal version), Photo Viewer ... My goodness is if the operating system was designed for specific use (hospitals, restricted environments etc where practically the system works alone because software engineers have put this pile of unnecessary things which is very clear that they are contradicting each other agree ... think about a hospital well, for example imagine a doctor opening Skype or a nurse admiring the images that she got in the FB ... it's absurd and if we look more deeply we can still notice that if you do not have access to the Internet, the computer will almost not have its specific function, ie the system does NOT need these s**t it is obvious in reality is simply a disguised way to "look" everything the user does not have to be clever to understand what will be done with millions of information worldwide ... imagine then the version " lamb" (HOME) where the simple user has no idea what is Gpedit.msc or services.msc is to at least "try" to get a little privacy hmm I miss M $ -DOS a lot because at that time what you see today "they" did not even dream
