The updates overview contains all needed updates for updating the ISO to the latest public build..

The latest cumulative updates bring the SSU and LCU in the same package. And during installation SSU will be run first.

I just did a fresh install of W10 'IoT' Enterprise 2021 from ISO, then manually installed updates based on this post:

    I installed:

    1. LCU
    2. NDP481 Base
    3. NDP35-481 CU
    4. Critical DU for .NET35
    5. DU for SafeOS
    6. DU for Sources

I skipped the OOBE update (because I never touch OOBE) and the 22H2 EP (not applicable for 'IoT').

But #6, the "DU for Sources" v3685, fails to complete. DISM throws some "file not found" errors in the log.

Am I doing something wrong or is this to be expected?

EDIT: I already verified that I got the correct link/package for x64 as a starting point.

"DU for Sources" is not update itself, just grouped files for extraction to ISO \sources
you should not need it, because it require extra care not to conflict with boot.wim\2\sources files

Oh, that makes more sense! Thank you! Neither the updates post or the KB article made that clear to me.

If I integrate a language pack to the image, I need to integrate the cumulative update after it again, right? or how that works?

yes, there're high chances you'll get BSOD without reintegrated LCU

Ah okay, thanks a lot for quick answer.

    So I better do this:

    upload_2023-11-28_3-49-11.png

    then W10MUI

    then W10UI

    then NTLite and other stuff.
(Yea NTLite can all same time, but I wanna separated and other reasons)

    .net 4.8 doesn't replace 3.5?

Do I have to keep both versions?

    net framework 3.5 ( are frameworks 2.0 , 3.0 and 3.5 )

    framework 4.8 ( are 4.0 / 4.5 / 4.6 / 4.7 )

    for full compatibility keep 3.5

Can I remove .NET packages from the iso and install later if I need to?

no, you do not actually need to remove the .NET packages from the ISO
or just don't include their newest .net updates in the iso
