Well, I'm using 21H2 and I haven't seen this happen but I remove apps and make various tweaks in Windows that might be minimizing the effects of this like disabling superfetch, etc. The message that you mentioned "windows ran out of memory error" or something similar occurred only once in Chrome, but it may have been a problem on a specific site.
I had never paid attention to this. Something similar happens here. I think this question helped me solve a problem. It seems my Windows is sometimes unable to adjust the required size for the paging file. I was having problems with VMware Workstation which as of version 16 started to use the paging file more aggressively. Letting Windows manage the paging file normally the size is around 2 GB and as needed it increases. When running a VM the size of the paging file almost instantly increased to over 3 GB. This didn't happen on VMware Workstation 15. For some reason my Windows stopped increasing this size automatically and VMware has an error when 3D acceleration is enabled. I put a custom size of 4 GB as indicated by BAU for the paging file and this error stopped showing. I currently have 8 GB of ram installed and at idle with Chrome and few open tabs plus VMware at idle I have: Spoiler With a VM with 2 GB of ram running on VMware and paging file custom size set to 4 GB on the host OS I have: Spoiler Maybe then increasing the size for the paging file will help you with your problem.
So any idea why this issue does not happen on win 8.1, maybe some system tweak/setting from there which can help minimising this issue on win 10.
I've said it already. Chrome is taking advantage of more security features in newer windows builds. Their sandbox is one of the strongest when run on 10/11. Windows 8.x is a joke when it comes to security, even worse than 7. But I don't have a definitive proof that it's what's happening on your system. Either way, little that you can do, other than changing browser - plenty chromium clones to choose from - or changing habits
Not Quite Dead like you would think (according to the article) What about Windows 10 LTSC and Windows Server? (Updated: November 19, 2021) In-market Windows 10 LTSC and Windows Server are out of scope (unaffected) for this change. Windows Server 2022 and Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2021 are also out of scope.
Thanks for this great thread. Could anyone recommend an online link to the latest Windows 10 Enterprise en x64 non-eval iso?
https://forums.mydigitallife.net/th...21h1-2-vb_release.80763/page-474#post-1740291 from my post MS got back to me and a fix will roll out soon it happens when in Win 10 update to .1766 and Win11 .105
What is the difference between: 1. Installing the latest build of Windows 10 and using Windows Update to update the system 2. Using W10UI to compile an ISO with the updates The only difference would be to install the updates offline with the ISO or am I missing something else?
