converted ProW don't accept updates besides, the goal is to determine if that change prior installation would make the CPU limit goes away
Pro-WS and Pro-edu don't take the CU, that's what @abbodi1406 meant and the link is the info about the applicability list for the CU.
If I understood correctly, to enable all ProWS features you must start from the Home SKU? After this I should have the full Workstation "package", as opposed to switching from regular Pro?
Great, I just tried upgrading from Home to ProWS by changing the product key in the Settings app. Now if I go check the registry, both the EditionID and CompositionEditionID keys say "ProfessionalWorkstation", whereas before they said "ProfessionalWorkstation" and "Professional" respectively. I can also confirm that KB4043961 does not install on ProWS.
You switched license, that can be done from many sku's, we were talking about offline set-edition by DISM from home or homesl to Pro-WS.
Weird, because it even restarts the computer and says "Adding Features". It doesn't do that when moving from Pro to WS... Confusing...
we are a day from RTM and we are still talking about wild buggy hacks instead of prices and features from official microsoft documentation. I'm guessing everything in this thread seems buggy because it IS buggy, and ProWS isn't actually RTMing tomorrow like the other editions
