If you are already running Pro Edition, it is much simpler to just change Product Key to Pro for Workstations or Enterprise edition, even temporarily. That will instantly enable ReFS format.
nice n simple i just tried this for fun and it worked on a regular pro install ..running a duall xeon and it sees all the sockets/cores
Has anyone tried downloading the new Win10 b16299.15 ADK, extracting WinPE x64, booting from it and.. see if it supports creating ReFS partitions? Just in case anyone is wondering: You don't have to install the ADK to get the WIM file. You can extract the WinPE x64 WIM file from within this file: 6d3c63e785ac9ac618ae3f1416062098.cab and just rename it to Win10PE_b16299.15_x64.wim. Size of the extracted WIM file is 239,002KB.
I can also confirm that switching from Pro to Pro Workstation did instantly add the ReFS format capability to diskpart and I went as far as to then format a volume as ReFS.......yet another reason that ProWS (IMO) is the future way to go.....
If you try to apply a .wim to ReFS partitian it does not work. That's a major downside for now at least.
hope the next round of updates stick to this build or i'll have past anxiety about a certain gn edition
