Why do you keep on posting these methods, with all those obsolete side steps?
This is all that needs to be done to establish the HWID:
    Code:
Just install 16278 pro-ws, activate it by using the product.ini non gVLK pro-WS key and upgrade to a more current pro-ws and it will have a free hwid. gatherosstate.exe also generates a working genuineticket.xml.

    I can understand your frustration.

It was not clear to me if I could use a later build. So, you are saying I could use any build, converted it to PfW and installed the PfW with the mentioned key to activate?

Upgraded Pro workstation 16299 to 17074.1002 thru WU. To my surprise it ended up with workstation instead of pro. I guess MS is getting closer to
    making WS a legit SKU.

Also works when upgrading via the ISO (same applies for Ent and other Editions).

RS4 SKU strategy has significant changes that leads to Core family using EditionPack-Core, and others using EditionPack-Enterprise (No more EditionPack-Professional). All SKUs are determined by it's unique EditionSpecific package. So, it doesn't matter so-called "License Switch" anymore.

With 10 Pro and LTSC 2016 I use the high performance power setting. I set everything to no power saving at all. I disable all "disable this device to save power" in device manager, which includes wifi adapters and usb. Basically every performance improvent option I know of including setting the hard drive timeout to "0" (never) and doing manual updates so my computer isn't thrashing the hard drive and sucking resources when I need performance. I set laptops on the "balanced" or "power saving" power settings.
I'm curious as to how this "Ultimate Performance" power plan will compare to that. I suspect bulls**t marketing gimmicks similar to the existing game mode. We need benchmarks.

So.. after updating to 17604 (Pro Edition), I entered Workstation key and activated using toolkit , I noticed the "Ultimate Performance" power profile was added. So it means it worked?

Sounds like Workstation is the new Gaming Edition, just not for gamers. I doubt you would see any special settings for those Mini-latencies.

Does the Pro Workstation edition come with Store and all those junk apps?

Sure. But what about all the things I don't want?
