Microsoft is spying on us. Not that I care, but they have things in place to capture each and everything you do on Windows if it is needed just in case. Irrespective of your telemetry level. Most of the settings in Windows 10 are for your eyes only and to make you warm and fuzzy inside with happiness. There are so many settings which stay on even if you turn them off. If Microsoft gets caught, the standard reply is "It's a bug" and no responsibility need to be taken.
It never will, as long as the registry isn't modified to let it think it's partly pro, or the mum files not modified to have prows in it. The official updates don't support pro-ws.
@enthusiast: " Why buy when MSFT screwed up and gave us the possibility to establish a free HWID for it, without using stolen/generated or keys obtained in any illegal way? " I have not seen this done in the USA, Have you or anyone else reading this?
Why is that important for the result of a free hwid, by using a key msft publicly published in the product.ini file on the UUP>ISO converted iso's (product.ini also is available when the full ESD's are converted to ISO).
I find it weird that you can buy a WS Pro version in the store and there is no posibility to update CU to the OS at this time
When you buy it in the store running pro (for instance) it will switch the license to pro-ws, then it should take the updates (because it's actually still pro) it only doesn't unlock the specific pro-ws features on 16299.xxx.
I'm aware of that indeed is that not kind of screwing over customers believing they are running WS Pro !
They probably thought 16299.xxx was ready for Pro-WS or Pro-Education but the license-switch wasn't correctly done, in rs4 they should go official.
Are netsh commands unlocked on WS? On non-server editions these commands fail.. netsh int tcp set supplemental template=internetcustom netsh int tcp set supplemental template=internetcustom congestionprovider=dctcp netsh int tcp set supplemental template=internetcustom icw=20 netsh int tcp set supplemental template=internetcustom minrto=20
Oke I have a nasty side effect with this build 17115.1 al works but when I revert a backup to 1709 my G drive ReFS becomes RAW and when I revert back to build 17115.1 It's back any advise on this will be welcome
So I have backuped 1 TB from my ReFS disk and now putting it back on 1709 were my disk was seen as RAW
16258 doens't exist. If you mean 16257 you can insert the non gVLK Pro-WS key from the product.ini file of the 16257 iso and it will switch to pro-ws + retail activation, and next use a pro-ws iso to upgrade to the real pro-ws. It will be officially supported when rs4 is released.
Will RS4 have the Real Pro-WS so we dont have to jump through all these hoops? I cannot figure out how to go from the dumps to a iso file.
Had a similar experience with a build 171XX,cant recall exactly which one.I restored C from a 16299.15 reflex back up,nuked, NTFSed the offending partition finally restoring its holdings from a back up.
