It does the switch to Pro but still no apps running from outside the store. Must be locked to Surface devices.
After reading the MS Manufacturing mode page (directed towards OEMs) Can the Manufacturing Mode be setup after the 'S' OS is installed by creating the registry hive + reg key?
This system is meant for cheap education devices and only allows to run what some here call Bloat aka Store Apps, hence no activation via any KMS tools possible at all. Only way to activate is to create a HWID for Professional on that machine and then install S which will activate with the Pro HWID.

I've posted the regkey here: https://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/multi-oem-retail-project-mrp-mk3.71555/page-71#post-1374510 It has to be set before windows is installed (load reg of mounted wim, or, iirc, when windows first boots up you can go in audit mode to set the regkey). It has been a while, maybe @Tito can link to his original post about the subject.
