Now its good some people really do the right thing when on the internet, like dont believe everything you read, or what people say, dont use third party software, be sure you know/read/download ANYTHING is from a trusted source, and so on. BUT one can take this a little too far and start wearing tin hats. A little research and applying risk management goes a long way in making ones life easier. The current 24H2 ISO we are all using IS LEGIT, but we wont get confirmation from M$ that it is so. Simply put, Just look at its contents, all downloaded from M$, it gets updates from M$. Its just not put together by M$. Look at all the users using it, no-one has found third party insertions. While I am NOT A TIN HAT wearer, I do play it safe on these things. If you are a tin hat wearer, then simple, dont use it, wait til M$ releases it.

Thanks. This means that we might have to keep all SSUs from now on which seems to be what Microsoft intended for end users anyway. There is still some time until the official release and it looks like there are good reasons why the official ISO releases for this build which include the server are delayed.
An update to this issue. I ran the dism /online/cleanup-image/startcomponentcleanup and it removed the old .268 SSU package and the associated packages Wrapper-44146CB95053EE5FD420FD9EF7282A994D0CF16A927D4629C38888957E4F4878~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~10.0.26100.268 Shared-7FEC25CD2E87666DA363D23FB24212BE2F581532466698AE8CB63B3BC5DEF876~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~10.0.26100.268 So it is only the manual uninstall which fails using the previously working method. Previously (Win10), the old SSU was not getting uninstalled by the dism cleanup. Still curious about what was the issue with manual uninstall. One day we will find out. because nfx35 is the reason of the issue in the first place, it's not enabled in MSFT ISO so they didn't noticed it's broken also modern apps do not require this old .net framework version
there is no problem to build ISO with nfx35 and without cleanup, I upgraded my system with it but then WU reinstalled the whole LCU and it took 10 minutes as for nfx35+cleanup I have not tested it for months, I just don't like the idea this thing breaks WU if it wasn't cleaned properly gonna test nfx35+cleanup now with 560 patch

Cleanup causes the faillure of LCU re-integration, so when no cleanup is performed at the same time as any fod integration all is fine. I saved the used ISO for my test VM installation and it had netfx35 enabled but iirc that caused the problems with installing .268, so i disabled netfx35 on the install, let WU install 268 and re-enabled netfx35 again but with 560 all went fine without the need for disabling netfx35.
