I guess they have no problem with people who can't afford new computers will either stick with Windows 10 or go to Linux all together. Their whole presentation on the 24th was how Windows 11 would be great and easy to use, doesn't seem like that was the truth. My motherboard has a TPM port, do I want to spend $100 to buy the chip on eBay? That's a whole new ballgame, the answer is no. Seems what they really want is people to go out and buy their computers. I'm sure that minds greater than mine will find a workaround.
Microsoft just asked me for feedback on the leaked build LOL. Well, since I am an Insider... I promptly gave them the feedback.
You can join Windows Insider Program and enter Dev channel straight form Windows 10. On Monday you should get update to Windows 11 insider build.. But your PC has to be supported.
Did anyone try to enroll the Insider Program using OfflineInsiderEnroll instead of the official tool in Windows? Maybe that's a way to bypass the block to new builds in unsupported PCs!
Yet another potential snake pit no one seems to be talking about is that Windows 11 Home users will be forced to login using a Microsoft account. It is not clear whether that requirement is just for the initial setup, or if it is going to be a permanent thing. Not being able to use one's computer if the internet is down or unavailable is kinda scary. I travel often to or through places that don't have internet. A close friend is often without internet for days at a time - the places he visits are that remote.
Yes. You would not be able to log into your work laptop to connect to the work VPN if it did not. Edit: The problems arise if you manage to lock your account from failed logins. Then you will need Internet or physical Corporate Network access.
Been playing with this and I can say for sure that the leak doesn't seem to have any restriction for activation based on TPM or Secure Boot. In fact I've installed it with non-uefi with mbr partitioning and activated with the digital entitlement method just fine on a vm. Bear in mind that it still uses Win10 keys and I haven't tested this on bare metal install. I used my diskpart/setup script and @Enthousiast 's script installer on the leak. I added my own winrecfg.exe and winrecfg.exe.mui files, but enth has updated those files here: https://forums.mydigitallife.net/th...el-co_release-leak.83658/page-25#post-1668980
