I installed from en-us_windows_11_iot_enterprise_ltsc_2024_x64_dvd_f6b14814.iso through WinSetupFromUSB, very smooth, no problems at all.
It can"t be easier. Firstly some people don"t have much skills in English for OS installation, secondly it takes time to download and install the language via Settings or PowerShell. In this case it"s necessary not only to download and install the language but change locale in the language Administative settings and in the Lockscreen and finally make PC reboot... Too many unnecessary body movements...
You're not alone: https://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/does-windows-11-feel-sluggish-to-you.88437/
The sluggish performance led me to give Windows 10 LTSC another try. I also used the Windows OS Optimization Tool for Horizon. The OS definitely feels more responsive now (though that's purely subjective, no hard evidence). What surprised me most is that I haven’t missed any new features. My productivity hasn’t dropped at all. Maybe I’m getting older, but I find the virtual desktop features in 21H2 to be more than enough. Plus, the ability to center taskbar icons and the addition of Microsoft PowerToys really provide all I need. The improved window management and File Explorer in 21H2 are a significant boost to productivity.
I don't think so, Eval SKUs are not meant to be activated beyond Evaluation period and are missing the license channels for perpetual activation.
But if replace SKU folder in Eval edition to a same folder from non-Eval? I remember I have seen some video where someone did something like that with Windows 10 LTSC 2021 Eval.
I upgraded from Windows LTSC 2019 to LTSC 24H2 a few weeks ago, and spent a few weeks tweaking thousands of settings, group policies, and registries. I have to say, it takes up more system resources than LTSC 2019. On LTSC 2019, the memory usage after system startup is usually 2.5GB + 600MB Standby, while on LTSC 24H2, after a lot of optimization, I still can't make it lower than 2.8GB + 1GB Standby, and this is only after the system starts. When running any program after startup, the RAM usage will continue to soar. I know that unused RAM is not good RAM, but I keep those unused RAM for virtual machines, and I really don't want to see Windows using too much RAM.
