    Yeah that's nice.
This means apps and games will be compatible for a very long time even when using Win11 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2024

If they let LTSC upgrade to 25H2 (as it has no new features), it may also mean the next proper LTSC will only release in 2028.

They added all editions in the test EKB, even Server 2025 can install it (same with 26220 one KB5066383)

i think when the retail 25H2 EKB is released, it will only support the regular client editions
however, anything is expected with Win11 mess

    That's a good thing.
The less full upgrades the better.

So if those insiders in Release Preview ring will quit insiders and go back to Production they would be in an officially unsupported build? Or MS will roll back the EP in Production? Highly unlikely in my opinion.

At this point if every edition did receive 25H2 in Release Preview, they will also in Production on GA.

This is running in circles and every time with a new (fake) release it gets worse.

I give up, next time i will go on holidays i guess... it has no purpose that we find stuff and publish it when it was first released, only the last one (re)posting old info is read.

    Ajuuu...

Honest answer: We don't know. Maybe MS doesn't, either. If they let the upgrade slip to LTSC, it could be a cleverly hidden release postpone. New LTSC releases are needed to eventually "catch up" in terms of features. But, when there are no new features for the next branch after an LTSC release, why not letting it advance and move the next LTSC release one branch further?

Relax, having an EP officially offered in RP ring on an LTSC build is new so there are no circles. We're just trying to understand what's going on this time and...

...this is the correct answer. We don't know for certain yet but imho it seems very likely this time EP will actually be offered officially via WU also for LTSC on GA, and LTSC builds will have their build number upgraded as well.

Probably MS doesn't consider EP "feature upgrades" anymore and allow them to be installed on LTSC versions as well from now on, which makes sense as long they are not full OS upgrades (like 23H2->24H2)

It doesn't make sense for 25H2 to install on LTSC 24H2 once it releases, even if it has 0 features. The only scenario where this would happen is if Microsoft has changed their internal policy on what LTSC is and how such version should handle updates. Windows 10 21H2 didn't receive 22H2 update, even though it has no new features. That version released in 2021 though, and this new version is from 2024. So perhaps they might've changed something internally without documenting it publicly.
