i believe it would be restored, you should try it i have against win 11 22h2 tried many options and autoupdates always got restored untill i have removed usosvc from svchost and its really simple to do it, you dont have to open gpedit, disable any scheduled tasks or disable other services or use third party tool like winaero. just remove usosvc from svchost as i said earlier and autoupdates are stopped permanently and it works against every win 11 version
Third party apps are there to be used, and when a small a brilliant swiss knife tool as winaero exist I can't see why I should use a more complicate way.
you can create bat to delete usosvc from netsvcs and another bat to add it then you can use it with one click or 5 clicks if you want to do it manually. none of third party tools are 100% safe i have used aerotweaker i think up until win 10. anyways do whatever you like

Windows is a moving target, and that target keeps moving for you & me just like it does for Sergey Tkachenko. At least Winaeroweaker warns the user when a new build is available, which hopefully has the fixes (if needed) for any tweak that MS tries to render useless. Just see Defender, most of the well known user's scripts are useless because MS keeps adding checks over checks, winaerotweaker still works, because the author follows what happens on the other side of the fence. It's a job he decided to do, I assume it's a job that bring him some money, so he has all the interest to have the application working well and being updated.
"And your method is 100% safe?" how can not be safe if youre doing it yourself ? i mean removing usosvc from svchost after doing it you will get one event viewer error as far as i remeber dcom complaining about usosvc not responding and thats all. you can correct it by removing usosvc from dcom if you dont like seeing any error not sure if there are any errors in event viewer after disabling updates using aerotweaker. also dont know if aerotweaker is 100% safe if theres no malicious code in it. plus i just like doing things myself esp if so easy instead relying on third party tools. as to disabling defender all you need is to boot into safe mode and use autoruns to disable and remove it, dont need any scripts you need to learn what to use scripts and third party tools for and what do it yourself instead.
I can confirm that this works but as acer said it could happen that an update brings it back so you will have to check after each update if it's still deleted.
Please don't change argument. You used the word "safe" intended as something that surely won't be workaraounded by MS. And is not. Pretty simple. It may last for a decade, may last for 15 days. i havent said scripts esp third party scripts are better i said you can do thigs manually and very easy. wont reply to you anymore because of everyone knows what kind of person you are, will just keep arguing and when that wont work you will start calling me names as before. you keep telling people aerotweaker is the only tool they should use instead doing things themsleves, take care
I got it installed and all working. the only major issue I have noticed so far is youtube fullscreen playback in edge gets choppy. Outside of that its stable.
It seems to work, after 15 minutes on a clean they have not been installed. Usually they install shortly after I connect to internet. Thanks!
Although 26100 updates from the retail channel but as long as MSFT doesn't officially announces it released it can receive updates whenever msft pushes them, not in the normal cadence (patch Tuesday/c week updates).
