I was just wondering how old is this forum? I found it by accident in 2009 when Windows 7 was released because I needed some stuff from here . Wonder how others found it
I stumbled upon MDL by accident when looking for some "cracks" to activate Windows That was in 2013. I was a n00b by then. Now I'm even more n00b MDL is very old but not that old hehe. Guess it comes from around 2006. Edit: Actually is 2005.
@ Mr.X haha then I and you still n00b at least I everyday learn something and need long long time to know a little more yet I remember very good first time when I come here simply I think wow here only have a lot of developers and I'm one poor n00b
Unfortunately, I've only discovered it about a year ago thru reddit, where MDL members were described as "The Experts". Which many of them are, some too much so, to the point that they can't leave a working system alone. I joined directly, as I had just installed Windows 10 that was giving me headaches. Now W10 is more or less sorted out, and I'm staying on for the chat. Looking back, I regret all those years that I wasn't benefiting from the knowledge base of MDL. I was (under a different name) a member and senior consultant elsewhere (TS), which I consider a poor second and from where I've left.
By a stroke of good fortune, I found MDL when I started to research building my recording computer. Everybody was so nice to me, and so many people just jumped in and taught me so much. It's hard to believe that I've been here for 5 years now...The time just flew by. @Katzenfreund: Whoever called these people here "The Experts" hit the nail right on the head.
yep I think for those users of computers and similar devices that search for knowledge and more expertise MDL is insuperable around the world
I joined July 31, 2015, tomorrow will be my 2nd Anniversary as a member here. We have some pretty smart cookies here and there is much you can learn from them too. Proof of that is I partly join because I wanted to add the store to my copy of Windows Enterprise LTSB (LTSC) and was clueless on how to do so. While at the time no one yet had a solution, eventually I and a few others worked it out, and today, I help maintain the thread which holds that solution. https://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/70741-Add-Store-to-Windows-Enterprise-LTSB?p=1262574 If it were not for the many helpful people here and informative people here, that would never have been possible.
The forums opened a bit later, though. Spring 2007... original reason... we wanted to have a place / forum to share modified BIOSes.
@ Yen yep and now MDL is one huge place to learn/share knowledge for all about world of computers and another devices no only BIOSes
