The message contains a file with registry settings. You can open the zipped file in Notepad to examine the contents. Please note that this is still in development. In the current build (version 2207, build 15409.20004), the name of the option in the switch has changed. _______ Edit: flags_11.06.2022.7z - my list of experimental settings.
Once I have enabled the new compact ribbon, the setting to expand it back to original size disappears. lol Only happens in Excel as usual.
Remove QuickAccessToolbarStyle from HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Common\Toolbars\Excel No wonder there are bugs. Manually changing the indicated parameter also removes the ribbon&qat(toolbar) setting. Example, "fff" = the full ribbon always hidden & qat is none.
Can you elaborate a bit what settings you are using. Can you point me to the responsible for narrowing of ribbon as shown in the previous screenshot.
I try different settings, which are interesting by name. There are currently 858 enabled settings. And from this there are various failures, including the fall of programs. So I don't see the point in posting them. https://forums.mydigitallife.net/th...ice-visual-refresh.84152/page-12#post-1731052 Look for options with the words: Ribbon, QAT, SingleLine, Simplified. For design, look for the words: Mica, Fluent. "UXPlatform" in option category format. The rest to check by name by trial and error.
I made all the registry changes you suggested. Unfortunately nothing changed on my end. I already have Mica enabled on my end.
@Dolmatov Few observations from Dogfood dev build 15414.20002 1. Mica gets enabled automatically now. Need to restart any app 3-4 times. 2. If you are on Windows 11 22H2 build 22621, Mica will just refuse to get enabled on Excel. It will get enabled on all other apps without any reg hacks though! 3. Dark cells and Compact ribbon still require reg hacks.
On the the right hand side of the menu ribbon (below Share), there is a down arrow, click it and you will see the option "Full-screen-mode". To get the menu back, click on the three dots on the top right. However, if you choose "Show tabs only" you can click on the "View" menu to get the full menu. Also, on the bottom of the screen, there is the "Focus Mode" option as well as the (- +) percentage slider of the page shown.
Hi everyone, this is somewhat of a miscellaneous question but anyone else notice the colored bar before you open or create new is white now? This is blue in word, green in excel. I noticed recently this bar is also white on my end. Will revert if I disable the preview features. I use office 2021 pro plus retail. I have a valid license, so no conversions or any special UI Tricks. This runs on windows 11 22h2 release preview (22621.105) I can get the color to change if I use dark mode, or other color themes, besides colorful. Otherwise, if set to white or colorful, the bar on the left is white. Seems odd because another install of office 365 does not do this.
FYI.. The V3 of my reg file works to enable Mica on MS Store appx version of Office. Minimum build required 15330.20196 This is for those who prefer clean store version of Office 365 apps and want to stay away from C2R garbage. Only 22621 (22H2) of Windows will not enable Mica in Excel due to a bug.
v3 does not enable the new launch screen for me, everything else is working, clean install of Windows 11 22H2 and Office 2021 Pro Plus Retail.
I think Pro Plus Retail doesn't have the newer codebase for launch screen. You have to be on 2016 Mondo or Office 365 paid subsctiption on Beta Channel.
