This one is on its on. Although it is still included in the same pack as the rest with the KB number for Seven. For example this one KB5009719.
A lot of applications have already dropped support for NDP 4.6.x you mean or will ofc as you say taking into consideration that 4.6.2 is the maximum also for Windows 6.2. The bottom line is, from what I read in msfn, that the applications that dropped or will drop support for NDP4.6.2 will drop support for Windows 6.0 as well. Hence you will fix the errors in NDP4.8 lets say but you will still end up with other limiting factor. But as I said if you manage to make it work without errors please let me know. Installing it is not the problem here.
I can't seem to be fast enough to replace that file. If i manage to find a good way to install it I'll make a REPACK of the file
Have the file extracted in your desktop and the moment the temporary folder gets created drag and drop it inside with right click. The menu will open and then once you start seeing the rest of the files being extracted click the paste. Be ready to click also the confirmation to replace the file. If you don't see the replace confirmation dialogue it means that you have dropped it too soon and it got overwritten by the original. You need to let the original get extracted first and then replace it.
I managed to install it with an AutoHotkey script, I will try to find a better way to respond it, maybe I can make a script to auto copy in time
Windows Vista Business SP2 64-bit was already up to date to January 2022 in my Dell Precision M6400 laptop. After new "patch Tuesday" updates were released today, I fired it up. Windows Update automatically loaded and detected 2022-02 KB5010384 Security Monthly Quality Rollup. After it was installed, a restart was done. Windows Update automatically loaded a second time and detected 2022-02 KB5010452 Servicing Stack Update. After it was installed, another restart was done. Windows Update did not automatically load a third time, so I did a manual "check for updates". No other Windows Server 2008 64-bit updates and no .NET Framework 4.6.1 updates were detected and displayed. A change was made in the guide to reflect the new 2022-02 KB5010452 Servicing Stack Update in step #17.
Which SHA-2 updates are you referring to, other than what's listed in the guide and has already been installed?
The .NET 4.6.2 can be successfully installed after completing the guide (before running any Windows Updates). I didn't test on already updated system
The 4.6.2 can be installed just fine. I installed it in almost every version of vista yesterday. Make sure that the installer is the new one. You need the installer that is signed with SHA2 and not the old one signed with SHA1. If you get an error message referring to unsupported OS you need to redownload the installer. In every version it detected the updates as well. Both yesterday and today.
