Is there any workaround to play dvds on wmp on these editions.. i have to use VLC on these wmp doesn't support them natively. It lacks dvd decoder.
There used to be an applications from SlySoft called AnyDVD. The last version that exist is the 8.1.7.0 I think. This program is removing the dvd encryption in the background (on the fly) to the point that you can just copy paste the dvd files instead of ripping them. It might work for you assuming that your problem is just the encryption. It hasn't been updated for ages though so don't expect to run very new titles.
