The version 5.92 of KB890830 installs just fine for me when I install it through windows update for some reason. When I try to install it just by running the exe from the catalog I have no luck. I even tried to pull the exe from the software distribution folder after wu installed it. It was the exact same file as the one from the catalog and I got the exact same system check error when i run it. The system where I checked most recently was on Vista64 Ultimate with WUC patch set to 2 (WUC patched as Server 2008 only). All the previous updates was installed with the the KB4580971 installed exactly before KB890830.

Maybe MRT can be patched in IsServer to always return true. But this is out of my knowledge upload_2021-8-21_9-17-42.png

I checked on a Business 32bit and the EditionID registry entry is already "ServerStandard" (Probably because the WUC Patch is set to Server 2008?). Anyway I wouldn't care much but it seems that Windows Update is not offering the ESU Updates unless I install the mrt. They install fine manually though.
