Just enter "C" in OfficeRTool at this question: Start local install now (1/0) or Create Install Package (C) ? > This will create a setup-package based on your selection. Then copy download-folder containing setup-package files. You later can use this package on other PCs. "start_setup.cmd" in package download-folder will start the preconfigured install.

You meant "converting to VL - worked"? Because else converting to retail could have caused the KMS activation failure.

I followed your advice. removed current version, reinstalled and bypassed option [c] and went to [k] ... same issue any other suggestions
Other reason why activation may have failed: Former Office version was not fully removed / cleaned from the system. I suggest to use OfficeScrubber from abbodi1406 and redo installation.
