Hello from Germany! I have an 8540p here and the laptop is pw protected. Lock screen at the attachment! So it will not boot to BIOS or any other drive without providing the correct pw... :-( What to do in this case? Best regards Peter
I did the step to create the USB drive and place the two files in "current"... have I to rename the files for my HP8540 in the same way? ver.txt does not report anything about it... and: is it corect, that the USB drive is "not bootable"?

I need your help to reset BIOS password for a HP EliteBook 820 G1, can I try with your tool? [email protected]
Hello from Russia. I have an issue with my EliteBook 640 G3. The BIOS has an Administrative password, but I don't know where it came from. Before the issue with password I changed only two settings in the BIOS - remove tick "Reset Secure Boot keys to factory defaults" and remove tick "Enable MS UEFI CA key" also. That's all. It was really need, because I couldn't install OS from my corporate image. Image was installed, but I could't enable TPM. Ok. I go to BIOS for clear TPM, but when I try to load BIOS by F10, the field with "Administrative password" is appearing. I don't know which password I should put to unlock the BIOS I didn't change any passwords in the BIOS> How can I remove the password in my case? [email protected]
I know this is an old thread, but I', going to try posting anyways. I have an Elitebook 8460p that I am trying to remove the BIOS Administrator password from. I start the HPBR, save the information correctly, then start the first run. After the first run, it says- ALL CLEAR... Failed to load defaults, error code: 89 Is there something I'm missing?
For the **70 series and newer (430G2, 820, 840G1, 840G2, 650) I have been flashing using a raspberry pi. Unfortunately, this doesnt translate well into something user friendly for home users. Of course I share my information HP EliteBook **70 Series BIOS Password Reset [Util Test] so anyone can follow along but you will incur costs for materials if you do not already own the pieces. I do not have a software solution for these models, but the hardware based flashing does work.
