    Hi,

I have a HP Compaq 6535b and 6735b, and want to remove BIOS Administrator's password; I ran Mazzif's software on 1 GB USB(FAT32) drive on these laptops without HD, and battery attached. But I keep getting an error when ran the tests twice with :
    PASSWORDS ALL CLEAR;-)
The current BIOS does not support this feature
    *** Reboot the system

Very frustrated when spend too much time on them.

Can someone kindly help me out. Thank you.

Brother, this is covered in this tread. If you read everything clearly in my OP the first time, there would be no frustration.

The PI Re-flash method works well here. See my 70 Series thread on this.

Hey guys... I have followed this thread as well as I can with my two kids running a amok. I have a 8760w that I picked up from an off lease ebay recycler. As usual, it had a bios password and no returns because I didn't ask. I tried the HPBR-WIN32 from 4-2016 but it doesn't have my machine listed and the shotgun method did not work, just reboots after some fast scrolling. Here is the info from the machine...

    UUID = 0xA02A09731532E11180D390097F19583D
    Current Serial Number = CNU1321KPW
    Current Asset Tag = CNU1321KPW
Current Model Name = HP EliteBook 8760w
    Current SKU Number = XU090UT#ABA
    Current ConfigID = A0001D02
    Computrace state = Not Hidden
    Computrace Lock value = Locked
Current System Board CT number = PCENH00QE1C16H

What is the current BIOS revision? I think anything over 50 now, will have been patched against my tool and also prevents rollback. That being said, all is not lost. I have been doing 8460P models (used to be compatible with my USB kit) with BIOS f.61 using my reflash method. First I pull a BIOS dump from the machine, then look for the Setup_Flag key and change a 16bit value. Save it and write it back to the BIOS. Boot the machine, it now in Manufacturing Programming Mode (MPM) and I can use the FSMC.BIN (rename to smc.bin) file on USB with the UP+DONW+WIN key to reset the . This clears the passwords but leaves the machine in Manufacturing Programming Mode. Run my USB Password kit again, and it will finish everything up. I know crazy right? Its a few hoops to jump though. But it works. I do multiple laptops every week using the reflash method. It's solid.

Hi Mazzif, thanks for good software, I have both tool - dos and windows, and HP Elitebook 6930p... I tried a lot of times to reflash bios as is deskribed on page 1 - fat, fat 32, tried to place file at root, ot Hewlett-Packard/bios/current.. but nothing - caps lock blinks 4 - 5 times and after that laptop is starting. Which is corect name for rom file. Regards

Where can I find this? Your tool write - The current BIOS does not support this feature
    UUID: 5949D0487800E811BB2332924703803A
Maybe I make mistake - I do what I find here - with pressed win+b I start the laptop, with pressed arrow keys (up, down, right, left) same... Laptop caps loch lamp blinks 4-5 times, and after that laptop starts,

My legacy USB toolkit would not work with the 840 G1. My PI/Flashrom method works flawless however.

if you need cheap. .CH341A with a 3 read compare to make sure its not a bad backup.
however i use flashrom with -p ch341a_spi and never fails to read or write 1st try always.

This looks like the last option for me!

I got my HP ProBook 430 g2 from my school, after trying some things with BIOS I set a password and forgot about it till 2 years later. (The link seams to not be working, frustrating or is it somewhere among the 46 pages of comments...)

    Hi:

I have a problem with resetting bios. I have a HP 6560b laptop. I used your tool.

    I made the following:
    - Save bios settings (Option 3 - S)
    - Reset bios (force reset - 5)
    - I wanted to re-enter the data (option 3 - R). There was happened error

Problem is when I reset my computer, it always warns me that I do not have any factory data entered. If i start up your tool again, it throws me out of the program. Is there any solution to enter data and remove that info?
