    You can't upgrade editions/skus by iso, when was that ever possible?

    Only by key.

    Inplace/Repair upgrade doesn't mean upgrading to other skus. It's for repairing the existing install.

    I'm hoping that eventually someone finds a hack that allows repair from boot media because the very few cases were I was unable to fix someone's windows 10 install I likely could have saved.

    I think that @Mr.X actually knows all this already, can't imagine he doesn't.

    It was about what is called what and why.

    Some things I used to know in the past are now blurred due to fried brain (iatrogenic damage).

    Lot of brain fog and cognitive issues. So hard that I was called conspiraloonie in other threads :D:p

    But yes I wanted to know what's called what mostly.

    FYI only: (Keeping personal files and settings)

    In addition to what Windows allows, it is also possible do such combinations:

    Cross-Edition, Cross-Version, Cross-Language.

    For example,

    en-US 17763.1757 EnterpriseS --> es-MX 17763.1 Professional --> es-MX 20292.1 ServerDatacenter

    Thanks a lot, I'm aware of this issue.

    You say to pick any 19042.xxx cause there's no 19041.xxx available again because this build was the RTM correct?

    The info, taken from the MRP QT or install log, you showed contained 2009 = 20H2 = 19042.xxx (when i am correct then use a 19042.xxx ISO).

    On uup dump you can get a 19041.xxx ISO, but that is 2004.

    Look again MRP QT info. Why it says 2009 = 19041 ?
    Code:
    Installation Type          : Client {Non Server}
    Version {SKU}              : Windows 10 Home Single Language {100}
    Edition {Registry}         : CoreSingleLanguage {100}
    Edition {CBS}              : Core
    Edition {Composition}      : Core
    Edition {Build Qfe Value}  : 0x1fc
    Architecture               : 64 Bit {via AR:1}
    Base Build Revision Number : 1 {0x1h}
    Internal Build Number      : 19041 {vb_release}
    Cumulative Update Revision : 508
    Release Identifier         : 2009
    Full Build Information     : 19041.1.amd64fre.vb_release.191206-1406
    Short Reference Version    : 10.0.19041.1

    Because all 1904x.xxx = 19041 + 20H2 EP for 19042 + 21H1 EP for 19043. Like it was with 1903 > 1909 (which was 18362.xxx + 19H2 EP).

    19041 + 21H1 EP = 19043 ?

    So it's better to just read the Release Identifier then go and get the uup with higher build for that release right?
