I also have a backup of all drivers. Normally when doing a clean install I integrate drivers and updates with MGM Toolkit. As I have Windows for Workstation I also export the WS index and make an iso of that. Until now it never failed.
It's risky, not stupid, 99.99% of all global home users doesn't even notice a new upgrade and most goes well.
It's obviously a joke dude. But looking at past update release dates, I would not absolutely exclude it, Patch Tuesday is more and more a meme: Spoiler Code: Day | Date | 1607 | 1703 | 1709 | 1803 ----------|------------|-----------|-----------|-----------|----------- Wednesday | 10/09/2018 | KB4462917 | KB4462937 | KB4462918 | KB4462919 Wednesday | 9/26/2018 | | | KB4457136 | KB4458469 Thursday | 9/20/2018 | KB4457127 | KB4457141 | KB4457136 | KB4458469 Monday | 9/17/2018 | | | KB4464217 | KB4464218 Tuesday | 9/11/2018 | KB4457131 | KB4457138 | KB4457142 | KB4457128 Thursday | 8/30/2018 | KB4343884 | KB4343889 | KB4343893 | KB4346783 Tuesday | 8/14/2018 | KB4343887 | KB4343885 | KB4343897 | KB4343909 Monday | 7/30/2018 | KB4346877 | | | Tuesday | 7/24/2018 | KB4338822 | KB4338827 | KB4338817 | KB4340917 Monday | 7/16/2018 | KB4345418 | KB4345419 | KB4345420 | KB4345421 Tuesday | 7/10/2018 | KB4338814 | KB4338826 | KB4338825 | KB4338819 Tuesday | 6/26/2018 | | | | KB4284848 Thursday | 6/21/2018 | KB4284833 | KB4284830 | KB4284822 | Tuesday | 6/12/2018 | KB4284880 | KB4284874 | KB4284819 | KB4284835 Tuesday | 6/05/2018 | | | | KB4338548 Wednesday | 5/23/2018 | | | | KB4100403 Monday | 5/21/2018 | | | KB4103714 | Thursday | 5/17/2018 | KB4103720 | KB4103722 | | Tuesday | 5/08/2018 | KB4103723 | KB4103731 | KB4103727 | KB4103721 Monday | 4/23/2018 | | | KB4093105 | Tuesday | 4/17/2018 | KB4093120 | KB4093117 | | Tuesday | 4/10/2018 | KB4093119 | KB4093107 | KB4093112 | Thursday | 3/29/2018 | KB4096309 | | | Thursday | 3/22/2018 | KB4088889 | KB4088891 | KB4089848 | Tuesday | 3/13/2018 | KB4088787 | KB4088782 | KB4088776 | Thursday | 3/08/2018 | | KB4092077 | | Monday | 3/05/2018 | | | KB4090913 | Thursday | 2/22/2018 | KB4077525 | KB4077528 | | Tuesday | 2/13/2018 | KB4074590 | KB4074592 | KB4074588 | Wednesday | 1/31/2018 | | | KB4058258 | Thursday | 1/18/2018 | | | KB4073291 | Wednesday | 1/17/2018 | KB4057142 | KB4057144 | KB4073290 | Wednesday | 1/03/2018 | KB4056890 | KB4056891 | KB4056892 |
As much as I enjoy most @cuteee posts, I would unlike the one to which you made reference if possible. How is it stupid to stay with manufacturer's default settings, especially for non-enterprise users? I don't have the user files on C:\ drive, but this is beyond the point, people got them deleted regardless of location I believe, assuming that they were still in the profile and the Group Policy configured to expire older profiles. It may be stupid to enable deletion of older profiles, but this is again a discussion for another time.
I just installed the ISO in question, and I'm not seeing any of the errors or deleted directories, files. I don't have much in Downloads, Music, Documents, etc. But what I did have the files were left intact.
Okie here is my experience of redstone 5. I upgraded redstone 17134.320 to 17763.1 from within windows , setup was completed , none of my documents were lost.. but i immediately then appliedd standalone CU windows10.0-kb4464330-x64_ , and now i am on 17763.55
