I integrated .104 with DISM and well, I am damn unhappy. This ain't stable. In fact, it's so bad I think I will go back to 1803. - afd.sys REFERENCE_BY_POINTER 0x00000018 BSOD - almost each reboot cortana.signals.dll crashes, looks like: Spoiler Faulting Application Path: C:\Windows\System32\backgroundTaskHost.exe Problem signature Problem Event Name: MoAppCrash Package Full Name: Microsoft.Windows.Cortana_1.11.5.17763_neutral_neutral_cw5n1h2txyewy Application Name: praid:CortanaUI Application Version: 10.0.17763.1 Application Timestamp: 6fe3727f Fault Module Name: Cortana.Signals.dll - Destiny II CTD often, freezes/crashes Exception Access Violation something something, 1803 was fine I should mention this PC is tested mercilessly with prime95 for 24hrs in each of the 3 torture tests and passes fine, memtestx86, LinX, Intel Burn Test, clean Win 10 install, clean nvidia drivers after DDU, and it's a pretty common 8700K/1070ti/Z370 platform with recent driver so... Anyway, crash one more time and back to 1803 it is. What a disgusting trip Windows has become. It used to be install and forget just 10 years ago.
I have a strange bug on Start Menu, that has been present at least on .55 and .104*. Don't know if it's present on all machines using 1809 as I can't test ATM. To replicate it, dragging one shortcut icon to another group and then back to the original place causes the icon to be stuck and unclickable. Then any drag operation on another icon (even if one unit to the right and back again to where it was) will make it behave as normal again. *This happened on a fresh 17764.1 install that was immediately updated to .55, so I didn't notice or even test on .1 when I organized my menu.
Yes, I know that the bug is present in this build, before I wrote the comment I checked it, that's why I said that the bug was real, I also checked that the bug is not present in the build 18262 (Fast ring and Skip Ahead).
I'm still on 1803 and for all the good reasons too, it's stable and 1809 isn't.....yet. There won't be any LTSC 2019 for me until spring 2019 when it's some what stable.....hopefully. I agree with you, it used to be just install and forget 10 years ago, now it's every 10 months.
Try and play some demanding games that stress your PC, both CPU and GPU. In normal usage this build seems stable, outside the spam in the Reliability History from cortana.siganls.dll/backgroundtaskhost crashing. Which is always happening in the background, you don't notice it.
looks like I wasn't exaggerating when about a month ago I said I don't trust 1809 to be stable. Funny part is that this os is a paid one
